The Stock at NBS is impressive during non Covid times. Years ago, I used to feel that the service there was good, but in recent years I have found it more cold, impersonal and aloof. My SA's have become quite pushy as well. I prefer other locations where the service is more genuinely pleasant and the SA is truly interested in helping you find items you cherish.

Lovely, this breaks my heart to read! I didn’t want to dob any SAs in but I have dealt with one of the SAs you mention in your post and I really was not impressed (highly unimpressed and offended actually !!). When I dealt with the SAs at NBS it just felt like they are sooooo uninterested in me even though I spent quite a lot of money in homeware. It was one of my first proper excursions into H and I came home feeling so disheartened and actually quite upset (I know that might sound ridiculous given I had come home with so many nice items. I can’t put my finger on it. But I was just so upset with how I was treated when I was spending that money).. it was just the up and down looks (I’d come from work), disdain, rudeness, and despite me feeling like I spent a lot that the SAs thought this was pittance.... When I was there I felt so put down by all the SAS and ever since at any other store (Harrods, Selfridges etc) they have been nothing short of amazing / phenomenal!!! So I am kind of regretting not keeping my wish at NBS a tiny bit because of the increased stock but at the same time if it takes a bit longer and I obtain it from a boutique where my SA is based I would rather have that! Xxx
I actually started my Journey at NBS in the 90's with an amazing SA named Sharon who then moved to Harrods and then left to have a baby-As I've mentioned on other threads she was beyond incredible and treated me like a VIP despite my low spend because she knew how much passion I had for the brand and yes..we 'Clicked'.
Fast forward to about 2010 and with one mortgage paid off (yay!!!) I decided to start looking in the boutiques again not to get a quota bag but just to start buying scarves, accessories, things that bring me joy now I had disposable income again.
I went back to NBS wanting to buy a scarf and felt I was on a conveyor belt they were reluctant to show me anything and got the feeling they wanted me to just say 'I want XXXXX design in blue" as opposed to my "I want a scarf with strong green in it-I dont like floral pattens but otherwise open" zero engagement just disinterest. But even that didn't put me off because being a sucker for punishment When my DH said he'd buy me a Cape Cod watch for a significant birthday we went to NBS...early in the morning it wasn't busy..We told one of the SA that we were there to buy a watch and were told to wait..and we waited and waited and glanced round the displays and waited..Finally my DH who is THE most patient man and enjoys shopping said "here's my Card..You know the pin I refuse to wait here like a lemon and beg to be served when I'm spending good money on your present I want it to be special..." and he walked out the store!!!-I didn't stay behind I followed him shortly after and since then despite the inventory I will not shop in Bond st.
I love the team in Selfridges they make the experience fun and despite being busy make time. I've never had a duff experience with an SA there. Since I buy bags on the pre-loved market and buy mainly SLG and accessories in store the lack of inventory doesn't really affect me and if there was an item I loved they didn't have I'd go online or to Sloane St rather than be treated like an unwanted party guest at NBS.

'full-body scan' to firstly ask themselves a question 'is this bothersome creature really worth my time'
Oh my gosh! I died! That’s exactly what they do, and I can totally say it because they actually mention it to me: “I love how you pair your scarf perfectly with the shade of your bag and your leather trousers!”
You know, some days you are only after a pair of twillys, a nice scarf, you still deserve some respect, don’t you?
My wishlist remains at Selfridges. Back in Luciano’s time, my wish would come 2 weeks within the new semester

Please ask/try to relate to questions without shaming SAs. Perhaps, even try to leave out names of SAs altogether if comparing stores or experiences. We know they read these pages and keep that in mind.

Bond St is the largest store with a corresponding number of SAs. That also means the most staff changes and temps at one time. We all get frustrated at times (including me). Bear in mind, a lot of the people who once worked on the shop-floor have been promoted or have had other opportunities in their lives and left for greener pastures. Nothing stays the same for long in retail.

There are another 4 stores besides NBS in London (aside from airports).

I’m sorry @papertiger. Just when I was about to make a list of all the lovely SA at Selfridges

So guys - here’s what I found out in my trip during the week. London in general was pretty dead, quieter than a lazy Sunday morning. Apart from Hermes none of the Bond St boutiques had a queue. I was actually surprised as media reports had suggested shoppers were out in force but can’t admit to seeing that at all.
Here’s a photo outside Hermes...

Once inside Hermes the atmosphere was lovely - a real buzz in the air. A good hospitality service - lots of people being served drinks. Staff seemed in a great mood and I saw a few bags being shown - Evelyns mainly. Overheard one SA saying they had no Picotins that day. But generally lots on display - including some lovely Constance wallets and the Birkin gold Sellier that was mentioned. Didn’t see anyone being shown a birkin but staff were walking around with lots of orange boxes!

Interestingly I saw these on display - and for sale - in Fenwicks. Just across the road from Hermes NBS! Didn’t know they sold preowned Birkins/ Kelly’s!

Finally I did go to Harrods to check out the Hermes scene. Interestingly they have taken over a huge area ( equal to a whole section in the accessories dept). However there was a sigft queue - people were complaining about how long they had waited. Seemed a shame that no one was being allowed in to the area even to browse ( unlike the rest of the store!). Normally you can look at the displays and jewellery but with this system you really can’t so I hope it changes soon!

Sorry, I didn't occur to me at all that they might be reading this. I'll go back to my posts and cross out the individual names. As people have been telling their stories and me trying to do the same not being one to sugar coat things, I may have been too specific. I suppose it's both blessing and a curse, the fact that retails never stays the same for long. I'll be careful in my future posts, thank you for pointing it out.

Ah how I wish I started my hermes journey a bit earlier, it seems that there have been many drastic changes in the last two years.

Yes but on sunny days, completely different story.
