Hermes boutiques in London

I have the same problem with NBS store lately. They were quite responding last year, I even made virtual purchases. But for the last few weeks, I am requesting the appointment and no luck. So I am assuming that they are busy or they have been asked only to respond to certain clients (just my assumption).

Although there is no way to know for sure, with the stock being low, I don't think that is too far-fetched an assumption.

I can only speak for myself but since shops reopened here I've had to put all my virtual client requests on a back burner because I've been snowed under with my in-store appointments no time to respond to WhatsApp requests or emails.
I can only assume NBS and Hermes SA find themselves in the same position with their long term regular clients coming in store and leaving no time to deal with newer clients or virtual requests.

Hi all!

this is my first ‘proper’ post on the site despite lurking for ages. I usually purchase Chanel or Dior Handbags and always saw Hermes as hard to obtain and too much headache and effort, especially when you’re conscious of spending unnecessarily on things you don’t need just to be in the hope of getting a bag. However the posts on this page are so helpful! Thank you to everyone who has posted about their experience and also explained the wish list process, it’s made me so hopefully of actually getting one!

I called Hermes this Aftn and Got an app to register my wish in may as that’s when I am next in London. Quick q tho, I’ve registered at Cadogan as that seems to have more ‘choice’, now I normally shop at harrods and enjoy their reward scheme etc and esp for such a large potential purchase seems sensible and wondering if I should change the store requested or give harrods a miss? The choice has always looked small and not very varied and I’m wondering if the likelihood of getting a bag is better in Cadogan? (Thanks in advance)

Welcome!

I heard good and bad stories from both stores. I think the likelihood really depends on your luck, the SA you work with, how much you spend and what you spend on.

Personally, it seems to me that harrods is the most competitive one due to the combination of several reasons - 1. The appealing reward schemes as you mentioned 2. Pre - Covid. High demand from tourists but limited bag allocation from their Headquarters. Post - Covid. I think harrods has built up a good mount of customers worldwide as they provide international shipping. Therefore, it may be even more competitive nowadays. I always feel that for the same specs, the required spending in harrods is normally higher. That is just my personal opinion and experience! Please correct me if I am mistaken.

I think Cardogen is more friendly to local customers and it seems quieter every time I visit.
I have heard a lot of positive comments on Selfridges recently though!

I've mentioned names in my previous posts which was against the rules (sorry I did not know) but I conclude from many others' input that communication can be an issue at the NBS store. I've also tried emailing my SA many times but I've heard no response at all. There are some SAs who I found much easier to communicate but it's really hit and miss. Did you call the store directly to get an appointment or did you just call the UK customer service number? I've personally never tried that but apparently if you are lucky sometimes they tell you what's in stock as well...?
There are issues at this store, but you will find (at least I did) that discussing them in this thread will get some very nasty responses.

Does anyone have an email address for the NBS boutique? I've spent hours trying to get through on the phone and no response...
I don't think there's anyone who takes calls actually, I've tried this too a couple of times but the number seems to be disconnected. Either the number on the hermes website is wrong or there is no one who is answering the phone at the moment (although I did try on different days and different times, and I couldn't get through so perhaps there is no direct store number)
As for the email, I don't think there is a 'store email' either, perhaps try your SA's email?

Thank you so much for the response. I moved to Scotland last year right before lockdown and do not have an SA. My shopping has been spread across Canada, Paris, Australia, and the online store. This will be my first time in a London boutique. I'm heading to London next week and hoping to find a great SA and pick up a few pieces while I'm in the city. My friend is an H reseller and she told me that they can now see your global shopping history/profile (hoping this is true!)

Ah I totally get you! same here, I've shopped around the world in many different hermes stores hehe. Not intentional but since I do travel a lot (well at least before Covid), this sort of happened naturally. There are several boutiques in London alone, worthwhile to hop from one place to another to just get the vibe of the store. Harrods is a popular choice due to the loyalty scheme and they have also renovated recently so now they three times the space they had before.

I do hope what you say is true and also it would be amazing if I can just use one account going forward. Having said that, I think it's happening, my SA in South Korea was able to get the bag charm le pegase (basically a rodeo charm but the horse now has wings) and he mentioned he could see my profile that I made in the UK and was able to add it on there. I do have a separate account in Korea but I have no idea if they were able to merge it somehow.

Happy shopping!

Has anyone managed to figure out if the chances of getting a quota bag from the new wish system is dependent on your spend at the store where you made the wish? Or are purchases in all stores counted?
ah the elephant in the room... (somewhat). This is seemingly the universal consensus, and I have no interest in nor desire to delve into what is fair and what is not fair but based on people's accounts, the most important factors in receiving your quota bag are what you purchase (purchase history), your spend, the seniority of your SA, and the store's stocks.
My impression pre-covid was that it was much harder to get a quota bag in asian countries compared to Europe and USA but I think that has somewhat changed.
Now, I have seen on various social media platforms giving 'advice' on how to 'score' a B or K without any purchase history. People may disagree with me but 9 out of 10 times, these accounts did not turn out to be true. Many of my friends love Hermes and frequently shop in many stores across the world but I have so far never seen anyone who was offered a quota bag by just walking into the store with the exception of Paris of course.

Thanks for your response! I was actually specifically asking about the UK’s wish system and if this has made getting a quota bag easier / fairer / allows you to purchase from multiple stores to build your purchase history for the bag.
