Hi Everyone!

I'm a newly registered member to the purseforum, don't know why I haven't done it before, I always knew it existed and was always reading tons of stuff on it mostly about hermes.

I'm a huge Hermes lover, and like most people here I'm trying to get a Birkin and my favourite is B 30.

Now, I've been obsessing over this for a couple of days now, but basically I think I've made a mess of things. Please hear me out.

Basically, I do have a profile (with quite a few purchases) and I was put on the 'wishlist' around September 2020 at New Bond Street boutique with my SA Sofia. Back then, I was obsessed with a Kelly 25 so I asked for a K 25 in Epsom with GHW with my favourite colours being blue, green and grey. I made a couple more visits to the store before the lockdown in England last year, did try to find Sofia whenever I went but she wasn't always there. Bought a couple more stuff but I did feel pressured to spend money (did anyone else feel like this at NBS, like they will only treat you better if you are seriously considering buying that crocodile Kelly wallet on display?). Anyways, that was that and it was the lockdown. During the lockdown, I tried to reach Sofia via email but she never responded to any of my emails. I gave up on trying to contact her, and couple of days ago, I visited the store (NBS). The waiting time wasn't too long which I was delighted about. I was introduced to Guillaume who was such a lovely gentleman, I was looking for an Evelyne TPM or a Garden Party 30. He offered me a pink Evelyne TPM but since I was looking for a different colour, I didn't take it. Sadly they didn't have a Garden Party 30 in stock. I'd changed my mind during the last couple of months, so I asked him to update my wishlist to a B 30 instead, he was very happy to do that and overall I was happy with the visit. Now, the problem is, he informed me that he will be transferred to a different branch soon (I was actually looking forward to building a rapport with him) and that Sofia will be assisting me.

The problem is 1) clearly my original SA is ghosting me (I've read that this does happen) 2) the fact that I have a wishlist at NBS means I can't make a wishlist anywhere else (unless it automatically expires).

I do have a SA at Hermes Selfridges who is much more helpful and responsive (honestly I feel much better at that store than at NBS). I bought a Bolide 31 at Selfridges couple of days ago as well actually. I do like the fact that NBS has much larger stock but considering the facts, do I just cancel my wishlist next time I am in store at NBS so that I can make a new one at Selfridges? I honestly don't feel like Sofia is every going to assist me or be any help to me. Or do I just wait it out and just get another SA at NBS? I'm getting pretty tired of this mind games. What should I do? Any advice will be appreciated it, did anyone else have a similar experience as me?
Oh dear. I’ve never dealt with Sophia, but I have worked with a Guillaume (may or may not be the same gent?) and he was really great. If you are spending £££ then you should expect better service than you have received?

Yes, you are very right. I think it could have been the same gentleman, I have worked with Maxime as well and he is okay too. I suppose I was unlucky, I sometimes think I just shouldn't really bother with the NBS store.

Oh no! I’m sorry you had a bad experience at NBS with one particular SA. Mine wasn’t great either! I moved my wish from NBS because I just wasn’t happy with the service... although I’m now kind of maybe regretting that because I imagine they get much more stock.

Now some of the more knowledgeable TPFers may correct me if I’m wrong, but I was under the impression the wish automatically expires after 8 months. By my calculations this means yours should expire next month? If I were you I’d wait for my wish to expire at NBS so you don’t have to cancel it (and it doesn‘t leave any sour taste) and then either restart with someone else at NBS given you’ve made quite a few purchases at the store or recreate the wish list at Selfridges with your SA there or in the boutique in which Guillame has moved :) hope that helps and hope you get your B soon!!

I suppose the flaw in my plan is if by amending your wishlist from the K to the B it starts the clock on the 8 months again :-s although I suppose you could always ask them to check at Selfridges next month?

Ah, yes unless by me updating the wishlist from K to B means the clock has started again (I'm not too sure on this). Yes, I think I'll wait it out a bit and honestly next time I'm in store, I'll ask this too. I'm actually kind of hoping it will expire next month so I don't have to do this ridiculous dance of moving back and forth between stores. I didn't ask where Guillaume is moving but I hope he moves to Selfridges :) Fingers crossed, maybe it will happen in the next couple of weeks who knows.

Yes, I realised this as soon as I got home after updating my wishlist, I'm not too sure but I don't think it has started the clock again (I don't think you are allowed to or maybe it's the system that does not allow you to?). I actually have a question about this too, is it normal for people for their wishes to expire and having to make it again? or maybe like after six, seven months they take pity on you and offer whatever they have in stock?

I’m at 5 months so I hope I’ll be getting a pity offer soon!

I decided to switch from Selfridges to NBS (due to the larger store and more stock). My SA was able to cancel my Selfridges wish (that had been there for 6 months) and do a new wish at NBS. So you can always cancel if you want.
ah I see, I think it depends on the SA you talk to and also the seniority of the SA you talk to. The SA you talked to must not be a junior if he or she could overrule the existing wishlist, I did have a chat with my SA at Selfridges about the wishlist and she couldn't simply cancel it and asked me to go over to the NBS boutique and asked the to cancel it first before making a new one.

How do you guys usually contact your SAs? I was only given their card with their email address. The card also has the generic Hermes customer service number, no mobile number to WhatsApp. Is this normal?
I think that's the normal practice, although with my SA at Selfridges I have her WhatsApp details so I communicate with her through just sending messages.

Speaking of moving wishlists, I tried to move mine today but was told that it doesn’t matter where my wish list is, I can turn up at any store and ask if my wish list can be fulfilled on that day. The SA I met today said there’s no point in me cancelling it or moving due to this. Not sure if anyone has heard of this or has successfully moved their wish list to another store?
