Out of interest (because I wish to order one too) did you have to have to pay extra import tax to receive it or was this factored in?
Thank you.
I’ve ordered from the UK website, even because, since Brexit, we are not allowed to order from the French website anymore. The price is in pounds and there are no import duties. However, it was definitely shipped from France (the label said it clearly), as it should, since it’s made in France, and it took ages in clearing process.

Out of curiosity - From your experiences, is it true that Hermes gets deliveries throughout the day or is it just in the morning when they first open? Also, have people had luck with leather goods purchases on Saturdays? I went yesterday (Tuesday) and picked up a Picotin in the afternoon.

I think it would be unlikely they have deliveries on a daily basis. I would imagine it’s once a week - or am I underestimating their sales/ supply?

Thank you. That makes a lot of sense.

I was wondering the exact same thing as there are some homeware items I’d like to pick up. Any advice for this Hermes novice would be greatly appreciated xx
Call the store up to make an appointment, they have their calendar open for up to 4 weeks. Tell them you're new so they pick an SA that is free. I called one of the stores, managed to get through after 30 mins of wait time. I didn't end up making my appointment as the date I want to go is beyond 4 weeks so will end up calling again.

I had a friend who made a wishlist before the last lockdown, she had very little to no purchase history and very soon after she was offered her wish of a Sellier B25, in Epsom with gold hardware. On her advice I decided to start my wish this week.

I ended up queuing for just over 2 hours on Thursday - I started queuing at 10:40am and was told it would only be 30/40 mins. 2 hours later I was nearly at the front but once you got into the store you would still have to wait a while to be served and I had to meet a friend for lunch so I had to leave. Thankfully the SA who had the (un)fortunate job of being on door duty on Thursday took pity on me and personally made me an appointment with her the day after (yesterday, Friday).

I went in yesterday and set up my wish, she was so friendly and nice and she also helped me pick out a twilly for my friend’s birkin as it was her birthday.

Now fingers crossed for my wishlist! Perseverance pays off!

Note, not all staff are working their regular shifts yet and social distancing needs to strictly followed inside the stores and outside in the queues.

Lots of people have been asking for etiquette advice for London. It's now quite similar to how it was before going into this last phase of lockdown of essentials only shopping in the UK:

1. For appointments you will need to email your/a SA. If you don't have their email, it's a good sign you'll need to join a queue.

2. If you have a specific item in mind call Hermes, call centre and they can check availability and make an appointment for you if there are any staff available.

3. Without appointments there is a queue outside. When a member of staff becomes available they will come to the door and you will be asked what you're looking for.

4. Customers from in the store need to leave for others to go in as in headcount. It would be really helpful to H if anyone not shopping could wait outside/find something better to do.

5. The queue will be managed but this/these staff members cannot help you like those inside, they cannot not help you with inventory or questions on repairs etc.

6. The worst stores to get help at this time are probably going to be Selfridges and Harrods for queues because you may also have to wait in a queue to get into the store in the first instance and then again for H.

7. Go before 10 and wait till they open (social distancing). At least the store will be empty so you'll have more chance of getting in sooner.

Wow that’s amazing! Which store did your friend go to do you know?

Me too! I had an appointment yesterday and created a wish list, and would like to hear about other’s experiences.

Hoping to hear of some wishlist success stories in the next few weeks  I’m starting to see my wish in my dreams ... waiting is torture!

Generally speaking there was a queue outside when I got there but not too bad. It was Sunday around lunch time, maybe about 10 people? I will add that appointments (at least for the store I went to) were between 10am and 1pm. Stock seemed high, I saw lots of picotins being sold, a huge variety of SLGs and shawls (I looked at both, and purchased a shawl). There were also some B/K/C on display but not for sale.

I’m so pleased to hear that stock levels are good. Is this in NBS? Has anyone been offered a birkin? Planning a trip later this week so hoping the queues have died down by then.

NBS! There were a handful of gorgeous exotic Constance wallets on display too (and for general sale) so well worth a visit. A sellier gold B was tried on by someone but I think it may have been a display piece only. The only items I thought were low in stock were shoes. Not much on offer for sneakers, and the sandals were limited also. I didn’t ask to look at anything so not sure whether there were more items in the store room. Atmosphere was lovely though, and staff seemed excited to welcome people back.

I will report back on my experience. Might ask to try the Birkin Sellier too!
