Yes this Lockdown seems to have been going forever doesn't it?
The place where I work were initially thinking Late Feb we'd reopen but my boss was saying yesterday it'll probably be late March
The thought is unbearable !
I am focusing on other interests, and on-line shopping only. Not much else can be done...but yes that is a very hard lockdown, hope the economy can take the bashing...

The wish list is usually a back-up for H to sell unwanted bags from their best clients to others. High spending clients will normally be invited to a ‘bag meeting’ of some sort to place a special order or discuss options. They will then wait for a few months to a year for their bag to be produced. Usually bags that are refused are then passed onto others. That’s what I know from one store member at least.
This isn't actually correct.
Wishlist's dont work like that.
The bags that you refer to are Special order bags which if rejected for whatever reason then become available in the general pool of bags available for clients to purchase, true it may be the case that if someone placed a SO which actually used a leather or a colour combination that my SA recognised as being my taste or close to my dream spec they may then invite me to come and see it..
wish-lists are not a dumping ground for unwanted SO (If only...I'd love a horseshoe bag..its a real privilege to own one)but a fairer system which gives a Hermes client who isn't a very high spender a hope of one day getting a sought after bag its also a good way to stop the endless clients who just walk in and say "have you got a Birkin?" the SA can then bring up the wish-list system, check the clients profile (if they already shop with the brand) and capture their details.
Its another form of data capture and also I would think a good way for Hermes and the SM of the store to understand via that stores wishlist database what bags sizes and colours are most in demand there and presumably allocate stock and produce product in accordance with this.

Oh yes stock levels definitely seem very low right now, and it seems that SAs also find it difficult to request transfers from one store to another (even when their internal system says the other store has the items)? I've also been told by 1 SA that they can't order items from the online H website to be picked up in store (and thus count towards my in-store profile) - does anyone know if this is true?

Yes this is true, tried to order a pair of sandals with my SA in the US, however my size only available on h.com that she couldn't have it to be transferred, I was being told to order directly from h.com.

Hi All,

I’m wondering do we need to pay the 20% custom duties or VAT for buying through vestaire ? Saw a vintage piece and trying to work out how much would it cost me in total. Based in London and item is located in the USA

Hi yes sadly we do. I had a recent experience where I ordered something on vestiaire on 19th December and delays at the border meant that I received it after January 1st and I was charged 20% VAT by DHL-I argued that i actually made the payment prior to Brexit and received a full refund from Vestiare.
Now unless we do direct shipping from UK based seller (which I wouldn't do) we WILL have to pay VAT

Have had bad experiences with VC, so wouldn’t buy either DS or not. Better buy from their pop up store at Selfridges, at least you can see what you are getting.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know how the boutiques can check if you have shopped at more than 1 store? Like do they see your purchase history at all the stores when they look up your email address/postcode/name/etc.?

It’s usually all in one profile regardless of how many stores you have bought from, except for the online purchases that are in a separate profile, which can also be seen by the SA.

Makes things expensive pretty quickly!
