Thanks! Did you ask for the SO directly or did your SA prompt the discussion?

Any advice on how to ask for one?
No I didn’t, my SA said they would like to nominate me for the SO as they knew how much I liked the brand and I had bought from different categories. In fact I said no at first because I already had my dream bag but they insisted that I think about it first before I declined. Another SA at the Bond Street store while helping me with some homewares purchases told me if I wanted to make a bespoke order (horizon I believe) all I needed to do was ask, so if you have a good rapport with your SA and genuinely like the brand I don’t see why you can’t ask he or she directly.

As anyone managed to keep in contact with their regular SA from one of the stores in London since they closed down 2 months ago? I emailed mine a while back but never got any response.
Saying that, she was never very reactive to written communication despite being extremely friendly and accommodating with my requests when I visit the shop in person. Sometimes I worry she may have just gone altogether...

I've been in touch with my SA every couple weeks, mainly just checking in, although I did email a little over a week ago and not yet had a response. Mind, that may be more due to the nature of my question taking a little time to respond...

It was my understanding all staff have been retained and are keeping in touch, doing some online training and whatnot with their days, but I guess we'll never know the full reality and if anyone has been lost long the way.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

My most friendly SA who gave me his card in store never replied to my email either. I'm not too upset though as I've been successful online getting what I want. I find the SAs to be very hot and miss. My worst experience with a Hermes SA sticks in my mind. I tolerated her only because she brought out a bag I had been stalking on my wishlist. It is annoying that my biggest Hermes purchase was through her though.

My SA and I interact a lot and have continued to do so during this lockdown.

I must admit, mine isn’t always great at replying to emails but we tend to use Whatsapp and social media to keep in touch better!

He said that they were all kept on and were continued to be paid which is good. He seemed very glad to work for a company that was making sure the staff were looked after during this time.

Yes, my SA and I used to email about once every two weeks inbetween visits. Received an email about two weeks after all London stores closed. Not heard since but haven’t been in the mood ..will send a check in now, thanks for the reminder

Quick update, my SA replied to me today and had been on 'lockdown holiday', so I'm surmising that like a lot of firms, employees are being asked to take leave during this period rather than face a glut of holiday absences in the latter part of the year. This may explain any slower responses for some.

Also, and although we could already have assumed this from current government guidance, there was a suggestion they would be back in-store in June.

Can’t wait for Selfridges to reopen on 15th June! Co-incidentally it’s also my birthday on 15th and my SA has been kind enough to offer to check stock on the Friday beforehand if there’s anything I’m after so I can purchase on the Monday!

Thank you!

Unfortunately it’s not the right time for me to make any substantial purchases - in the final stages of finalising a property purchase [emoji29] but I’m just looking forward to going for a stroll and being out at the shops!

Yay, H is back open in London!
Popped into H Selfridges today for my birthday. Nothing that really grabbed my attention, but the SAs did give me this for my birthday!
Made my day actually, just a lovely gesture for H clients I think!
Some flowers, a little box of chocolates and this leather horse head charm that you assemble yourself (like leather origami!).

That was very nice actually. Happy birthday! How was the store, too busy? Can’t wait to go back.
I’ve managed to make a purchase by phone last week and they delivered it to me, but I’d love to visit the store!

Thank you for the birthday wishes!
I got to Selfridges around 11.30/midday I think, there was a small queue to get into Selfridges (less than 5 mins). Only one other customer in H when I arrived and there were SAs available.
I was there for about 15/20mins and in that time a few more clients came into H. But no I wouldn’t say busy.
It’s oddly nice to shop in a much less crowded and busy environment.

Happy birthday!

And what lovely treats - I do find those horse-heads wonderfully charming!!!

NBS is also open again now, so I assume all other H owned stores will be too. It's my understanding they will be both arranging appointments for regulars but also holding a queue for walk-ins, so perhaps not quite the same approach that the US stores have been taking.

I'm not due to go in for a few weeks, once some pieces have arrived for me, but I'll update you all on what things are like if no-one has beforehand.
