Hermes boutiques in London

I stayed in Singapore, and has a SA in local hermes store serving me . I got Birkin and Constance from her so far. I will move to London to stay for good. So I will need to build a new profile in London. May I know which store is the best? I found from this thread that NBS the flagship store has more stocks , but at the same time many tourists, so their stocks may go fast, and their SA are snobbish.
May I have tips, how to make relationship with SA in London , and which branch the best? I believe the chance is very slim at Harrods to get b/k/c offer.
In my memory, the first time I purchased item from my SG SA, she gave me her name card, later I always purchased item from her, after a while, she fulfilled my wishlist.
If there is NO chances to get b/k/c in London, I will consider purchase from my SG SA, even I have moved to U.K.

Hi Nahreen: you are most welcome. I actually live in Toronto so I understand high prices :annoyed:
Essentially anything I purchased in London was double in CAD dollars. Therefore you can only imagine the cost of my hotel when converted !! However it was really worth it and I am still happy I stayed in Mayfair. I found that even with the insane weak Canadian dollar I still saved some money. I did not purchase any Hermes but did purchase other items and with the VAT refund I still found I saved some money. London is fantastic and I such had a great time!!! People are so so nice, I was so happy with everyone I encountered, and the exceptional service in the boutiques exceeded anything I expected. I was very happy with my visit to London

I think you will also really like Hermes in Toronto. There is a lot to chose from. I am not sure if you are looking for a B/K/C? I am doubtful you will get one without purchase history but you will definitely find they have a wonderful scarf selection and other leather items.

Yes, I thought you might be from Toronto since I know you are busy in that thread. I am Swedish but like the UK, we have our own currency (not Euro) and it is at the moment poor compared to many currencies. So it is not really favorable for us to travel to shop for H and within the EU we are not entitled to any VAT refund. But it is still fun to visit larger stores to browse the inventory that H has to offer. Since the store in Stockholm is small, their selection is limited and I often have to order jewellery, watches etc based on their catalogues and photos on the internet.

I used to go often to the UK when I was younger to relatives and lived there for a year after upper secondary school. This was more than 20 years ago and then I wanted to travel to other countries so I have not been back. I have actually never done any luxury shopping in London before. So it would definitly be fun to do that now.

No, I am not looking for any handbag either in London or Toronto. I have been fortunate to be able to purchase a K and a B at my home store. So for London and Toronto I'll most probably only buy some smaller items as mementos from my trips and not only because of the higher price but also I feel I want to be loyal to my home store for any larger purchases. Besides I have my eyes set on a Faubourg watch that I hope to buy soon.

London prices in H are actually more expensive when you compare to EU prices (due to weak £ and the recent increase in Jan 2018). I am actually seriously switching my home store to FSH, which I find much better in terms of value and choice.

Out of all the stores in London I highly recommend the stores at Royal Exchange or Selfridges , though I have also received outstanding service at NBS, and Sloane Street

I would second Royal Exchange - small but perfectly formed - easily overlooked
I also vote on royal exchange, as the SAs there are super friendly and are not snobby at all most likely because they dont really get any tourists and its a much quieter store where the SAs are actually interested in engaging in a conversation lol.

Current situation at NBS on Customer service skills and product knowledge is that.....
NBS has a new SA at their leather bags dept and was not friendly, actually down right rude. This person introduced himself as the new head of bags dept and informed me that my regular SA is now being investigated and no longer works on the floor. Not only that, he then interrogated me about my relationship with my regular SA. So, I challenged him to a handful of questions about the bags on display behind him. I was reminded arrogantly that they are display only and could not be bought. Had to tell him twice, almost begging him to show me the backpack in Lime on display, then was told this colour is not yellow its LIME. Sigh... well, since he was so stuck up but failed to name any of the displayed bags, I told him I would give him 5 days to study and will return to challenge him on Hermes bag knowledge and skins. Of course he played sick on the day I returned.

Are you kidding me? Wow, sorry about that. Very sorry to hear about the situation with your reg SA, that's HUGE.

SAs often don't know/keep up with the colours. BZ described at Atoll, VV described as Malachite but their 'pride' gets in the way of learning.

I am currently in London and was able to buy an Evelyne PM in the color and leather I wanted (Etoupe in Clemence). Yay! Score! [emoji2]This was at the NSB store. The SA was very nice and helpful. There were only 2 Evelynes on display: a white TPM, and another PM which looked like it was from this season, not sure. The SA had to go to the back to check if he had what I wanted. He came back with a shrink-wrapped box and said, ‘let’s see if you like this one’. I was convinced it would be something similar but not what I wanted, since Etoupe/Clemence is such a popular combo; in fact, I was surprised they even had any in stock when I went. I honestly did not have high hopes at all and was expecting to have to try all the other stores. Then he opened up the box and said, ‘Here it is, in Etoupe,’ my bottom lip almost fell to the floor. Ok,so it’s not a Birkin, but still, I was thrilled. I have to laugh because this Hermes mystique is no joke, lol. It’s like he was building up the suspense for me the entire time. I mean, before he opened the box he could’ve just said, ‘ok, i have one in etoupe’ , but instead it was this whole performance building up to the reveal, as I waited there with bated breath. So funny. And I’ve read more than my fair share of Hermes reveal stories on here so that made it even more relatable and funny to me!
I would love to know what all of you experts on here think: was I wrong in thinking it would be hard to get this bag in this combo in London, or are they relatively easy to find here on any given day? I’m really curious to know if I got lucky or if it’s no big deal, or if it’s hit or miss. My friend told me that last week they had Evelynes in all colors and sizes in the Miami store, for example.
Hope this helps and thank you so very much to all the knowledgeable TPF experts who chimed in with advice- it was so helpful, as always.

Congrats on your beautiful new Evy.
Whilst I am not an expert by any means I would say that you did get lucky but that is great as you wanted this bag and it was available.
I am UK based but not London. Evy’s have been in short supply on the website lately so I don’t think they are hugely available. Also supply in anything appears to be short due to the £ value and tourist shopping. Etoupe is such a beautiful classic that it’s popular so again very desirable.
By the way I visited Miami last December and was amazed at the amount of stock they had, I have never seen so many bags that were available and not just display only as seems to be common in stores these days.
Enjoy your wonderful new bag and cherish the experience that started your journey together.

Many thanks for your reply. This was nice to know and made the purchase all the more sweeter of course, which is why I asked in the first place, lol. Flying through Heathrow on the way home, out of curiosity I also checked in the Hermes boutique in Terminal 3. I only saw one Evelyne GM. I told my story to the SA at the counter and also asked her if, in her opinion, I had just gotten lucky at NSB. She said they’re always getting different stock and she currently only had a red Evelyne in the back. She said the airport Hermes isn’t associated with any of the London stores and can’t place orders for customers (from other London stores), which I already knew, however she also thought I had probably gotten lucky at NSB. When I said I assumed it wasn’t as hard as buying a Birkin, she replied, ‘Getting any kind of Hermes bag is lucky; you never know what is going to be in stock..’
Anyway, this is a beautiful bag and I’ve been using it every day. There was a £500 price increase for this bag in London but I still saved money compared to buying it at home. I’m so happy with this purchase :)

Hello everyone,

I am travelling to London in June and am hoping to get my first H. May I ask if it’s possible for me to buy a Halzan mini or GP 36 from the store without a purchase record?

Many thanks in advance! Have a lovely day!

I have no experience in H bag buying but it's worth a try if you go in the morning. If it was me I would go to Selfridges first they are much more receptive to the tourist and open at 9:30 if no joy you can walk to NBS which opens at 10am. Good luck
