looking for a birkin for my wife..... my head hurts... it is so hard to buy one, specially if it is a surprise. I wonder if there is any other men in this forum? .... very good info btw

I had a question about SO's. When we place a special order for a birkin , do we need to deposit some money or do some down payment at the time ? or pay in full amount ? Or do we pay for the bag after we receive it in the boutique ?

I am new to Hermes and just recently purchased a Jypsy.. lovely bag indeed.
Also I have put my name on the waiting list for the Birkin. Just out of curiosity, how long do you guys actually wait before you get the call? I was told by the SA 2 years (here in Sydney), but how many of you actually have to wait that long?

I know this question has been asked in the past in this thread but I am still a little confused abt it so thought I clarify again. Is it true that the square after "Hermes-Paris" engraved only appear on GHW and shouldn't appear on PHW? And all GHW should have the square but mistikat commented previously that some old gold/brass hardware doesn't have the square.

I jus moved to the USA. Was wondering if Birkin has a waiting list.

Also have any of you sent your birkins or Kelly's for cleaning before? Do they charge you? And how long does it take? Mine was sent for cleaning in Malaysia and its been a year and still not back yet cos they said its sent to Paris to clean. Also they quoted me a minimum of 300usd for cleaning

It really varies... it depends in part on the type of leather and colors you have chosen. If you are flexible on this, you may get lucky and be offered a birkin before that time frame if you have a good rapport with your SA especially if another client declines her SO. I hope the H gods bless you with a birkin soon!:smile1:

Hi there!

I've just done my first H bag purchase - 1 garden party 36 and 1 34 Lindy from my recent Italy trip.. Finally, am a proud owner of 2 H bags!! I was hoping to land a K or B but didnt manage to, sadly..

Can anyone advise on how to get onto the wishlist for a Birkin in other countries where SG boutique said that they dont accept anymore. I bought both my bags plus other accessories and scarfs from Rome and was told that they dont accept anymore on waiting list too.
