Chanel-girl, what type of discount did you receive on your watch? How did you negotiate?

It is a good negotiating strategy to pit different AD's against each other with the discount but Rolex is SUPER STRICT about discounted these days, they can lose their authorization from Rolex if they are caught discounting. My AD told me that they aren't able to openly discount as they used it to be. However, they still do have to be competive and want to make the sale so if your persistant it wil probably work in your favor. Also, the more expensive the Rolex is they are able to give slightly more of a discount since they don't sell as many as the less pricey styles. I think 11% is a pretty good discount, which style did they give you that amount? I don't know if they will do 20%, that is pretty rare but go to different ADs in your area and be persistant and see what they will do...

I live in Pennsylvania. I don't know if prices are better in certain parts of the country or not. But I would certainly shop around and try to get at least 15% off. I went to three places all with different percentages off. The only way I could have gotten the 20% off is if I paid in cash or put on one of my existing charges which has an interest rate. The 15% off was available at a store where I used their financing at zero interest for 12 months. After making a nice cash payment down (which I didn't have to), my payments won't be so bad. It is like buying a car! But definitely shop around. Also the stores are more apt to give a better discount if they already have what you want in stock. If it is a special order, the discount isn't always as great. I lucked out cause mine is a special order stainless jubilee with rhodium roman on a mid-size but they still gave me 15%! Keep us posted but find out where the reputable authorized dealers are in your area. Good Luck!

I have a YG Pearlmaster with a diamond bezel. I wear it frequently, and it keeps great time. It's flashy enough, but not overly so.

I think Rolex worth every penny. You won't regret it. Jubillee won't look dated, like it much more than oyster bracelet . As far as I can remember, I love Rolex since I was in Junior HS (mid 90s) and until now I still think its the classiest watch.

As for stainless steel with diamonds, the fluted bezel is White Gold. And I think mid-size 31mm is nice compare to the smaller size, but I think it really depends how big is your wrist..

My choice goes to: mid size, stainless steel (two tone, if its for me), diamond marker, champagne dial, fluted bezel, jubillee bracelet. That's what I'm gonna get next month for my Bday!!

I received the 11% discount on the ss jubilee braclet, ladies size, rhodium diamond dial. Looks like I need to do a little more shopping, and try to get a little better deal. As always, thanks for your advice.

I love the mother of pearl dial. It really stands out compared to the white or silver dial. Fluted bezel with jubilee bracelet is a classic.

I usually visualise myself wearing a watch, jewellery or even bags say 5 years from now. I don't want anything which is too 'it' for now and when you look at it years later...it's dated.

If you have the budget, go for mother of pearl dial. It really makes the watch really classy. I was comtemplating whether I should go for MOP dial initially because of the price difference but I can tell you, it's worth it. It glitters when light hits the dial at different angle.

Currently, I have a 26mm Lady Datejust in Rolesor (Steel and Yellow Gold), fluted bezel with jubilee bracelet, diamond markers with mop. My DH got it for my birthday for RM25,000 (approx. USD7600) after a real good discount (almost 18%) at a local Rolex authorised dealer.

The best is to try them on and see what looks good on your wrist. Good luck. I will post action pics later.

Nvie - I have pretty much decided on the white MOP dial. Now I am contemplating whether I should get the diamond markers or the Roman markers. Although I love the diamond markers, I think that having both the MOP and diamond markers may make the watch more dressy than I would prefer. What do you think? I can't wait to see your pics. Thanks for your reply.

I had a gold ladies with white face and gold roman numerals with diamond bezel for 20 years. I sold it to someone who had to have it that day off my arm for his wife. I got a great price but have regretted selling it intensely. I can't beleve I was so dumb.

I'm anxiously awaiting my mid-size stainless jubilee fluted rhodium roman! In the meantime, a fun watched I ordered months ago from Nordstroms arrived. It is a white ceramic Michael Kors. I can't decide if I want it or not. Do most of you wear your Rolex exclusively or do you sometimes altenate with trendy ones too?

Here's my watch for sally and ljsmom88
