Hi, Ladies...I have been out of town and unable to follow this forum. I am happy to be back. I have made a final decision on the watch I am going to purchase: Stainless steel, fluted bezel, white mother of pearl diamond dial. Now to the price: The best discount I have been offered is 11%, but I hear y'all talking about 16-20%. Is 11% too low? Let me know what you think. Thanks!

What is the retail before discount?

Amazing how the prices have jumped since the increase, really. Hokaplan, the rhodium Roman dial is one of the most gorgeous dials IMO! Great choice

Re posting pics, I usually resize my pictures through imageshack, then I copy the address and click the square thingie (insert image) between the globe (hyperlink) and the textbox (quote) and paste it there.

i was gonna say, if you happen to travel to HK, find a reputable store to buy one. as far as i know, the manufacture send the best quality watches to HK & they also carry more styles b/c the market has been very good...i have yet to verify this saying. but not that many ppl know rolex in the US... ppl in HK..most college students or even teenagers know what it is. i knew it when i was 15 or younger...can't remember.
mine is the mid size, all look platinum / stainless steel (not sure what it is exactly...my dad bought it for me and i didn't care what it was)..w/ the vertical white gold stripes on the dial. no diamonds...it's too much for my taste. i have had it for over 12 years. it doesn't run on time unless i wear it everyday...it's by motion not by battery. i have never had a problem w/ it.
i have heard the resale value is high. somenoe told me mine worth 6K now?? i got mine brand new at half of the price. it was a popular style though.

Yes, the discounts I have been getting are from ADs. Yesterday, she told me she would increase the discount to 12%...Little better, but not 15 or 20%! Hoka, I really struggled between the rhodium and MOP, the rhodium is gorgeous, I know you are enjoying it (and I am so glad that I am not the only person who doesn't know how to post pics...*s*)

Having been born and raised in the US, I know that everyone knows about Rolex watches. ALL college students and teenagers know what Rolexes are, especially since it's always mentioned in movies and music. I'm not sure about having the best quality watches sent to Hong Kong since Hong Kong is known to have many fake Rolexes, but there are plenty of wealthy people here who buy multiple watches so there is definitely a huge market for them.

i didn't mean to put down ppl in the US...but when i was in seattle, no one (classmates, roommates) knew what it was. and even at my office (nyc)....no one actually knew what it was. only one guy made a comment b/c he was wearing a rolex. i haven't watched any movie mentioned rolex...not SATC (big was wearing one), not devil wears prada. i haven't met more than 5 ppl here in the US wear rolex. i went to private school here and met many rich kids...2 of my classmates wore rolex and they were not born here... and i was speaking for my experience. sorry if i offended everyone.

Have been following alot of Rolex discussions on www.rolexforums.com and it seems that a 20% discount is just not happening these days since Rolex have clamped down on ADs that gives large discounts. On the quality issue there shouldn't be any difference of quality around the world all the watches are made at the same place and I doubt that Rolex would jepardise the brand with different quality depending on where in the world they sell the watch.
I am torned between the white MOP diamond dial or the white dial with roman numbers plus a Hermes cape cod
