Returning can result in a ban letter !!!

Returning could but it is if you do a lot of returning without receipts. For instance, if you get a bag with PCE and return it a week later with no receipt at FP to get a merch card for full value, use that card during the next PCE and do this over and over again. Hopefully this make sense

WoW! I didn't even know that you could get merchandise credit without a receipt...

But...we have no idea why the customer got the letter.

I don't know for certain but I was under the impression serial return-ers got a "you can't return unless" letter. Perhaps this lady was a "buy at FP, hold and exchange at outlet price" person? In the first case, if it were my business I wouldn't want to lose a "top dollar" customer if she wasn't costing me anything but my time. In the second case - I'd lose that customer like a bad habit. :roflmfao::roflmfao::roflmfao:

If she was a reseller oh well - but it doesn't sound like it from what little we know.

Who knows...

Very true. We don't know the circumstances behind people receiving this letter. It's the method of delivery I find so embarrassing. I know that it is the only way to ensure the customer receives it, but to do it in front of other people is just awful!

Wow! I don't have the time or brain power to come up with something like that! I find it sad. Coach is so generous with its policies and there are so many awesome employees who work hard to help keep us happy. It's kind of a slap in the face, and IMO, stealing.

Why can't they mail it?? That would be much more professional, IMHO. K

I've never heard of a ban letter being mailed. They always seem to be given in store when the one getting banned tries to buy something.

No one ever answers the phone number in the letter either, so they are pretty much totally cut off with no explanation or recourse.

Exactly- very frustrating indeed!!!
(Actually my letter was handed to me in my nearby outlet store w/ the signature space blank, however I also received a mailed copy (w/ signature of some guy in the Loss Prevention (LP) dept. mailed from Coach corporate in NYC a few days later. Just a guess, but I think that the store that hands you the letter must then contact LP and tell them that the letter was 'delivered' in person, and then they send the letter by mail as well so you can't claim you never got it....
