Experiences with SELLING to Bag Borrow or Steal

In the same boat as you and a little worried. I sent a Tory Burch bag about 3 weeks ago too, it arrived to them on the 14th. I haven't heard a peep from them but I know they are notoriously slow so I've just waited it out. They gave me a really terrible offer too for a beautiful bag in mint condition, but I just don't use it and tried ebay with no luck.

I'm going to live chat them tomorrow. I have a feeling I'll be getting my bag back too. Wish I had a good consignment place in my area.

I think all these resellers offer you close to nothing for your bags. I got an offer of half retail for a brand new, hard to find, in great demand, Hermes item from one.

At least I'm not the only one - they've had 2 of my bags (1 LV, 1 Gucci) since 8/15 and I haven't heard a thing or received any kind of update. I've sold to them before & know they're notoriously slow but it seems longer this time.

I'm sorry you had such an awful experience! I also recently had a less than satisfactory experience with a reseller. I understand how frustrating it is. I personally think there's NO excuse for bad customer service.

Definitely poor customer service regarding the time it took, however I don't think the price offered was that unreasonable. People are going to expect to get a $300+ bag for much less than that, especially when it's second hand (regardless of the condition). The site has to make money too, so they will offer you much less. While $85 isn't near what you paid, it isn't terribly unreasonable imo.

I consign most of my unwanted bags but I only get 45% cash or 55% credit of whatever they sell it for (often much, much lower than what I paid). It sucks to see such a small percentage of the sale price coming in, but I also have to factor in the convenience--no ebay hassles, no shipping, no fear of scammers, etc.

I totally understand your frustration. I recently sent in 4 items after accepting their quote and it took about 21 days for them to process and communicate back that my payment was on the way. They never answered my multiple emails to inquire, but live-chat gave me the "currently running behind due to popularity of the program" answer...unacceptable. However, I recently received an email that they are changing their "focus" to concentrate only on "luxury" brands. So, they no longer rent or private sale regular designer brands like Coach, Kate Spade, Michael Michael Kors, or Tory Burch plus others. This could explain why they are rejecting bags previously quoted for these brands. Hopefully, this new narrower focus will also get their processing times back on track. I think they just scaled the program too wide too quickly and have had to go through some pains to figure their business model out.

Same thing happened to me! I wanted to sell a Moschino bag that just wasn't my style - they offered me less than $100 for a $1295 bag!!! I ended up selling on ebay for something really low - but not as low as the quote they gave me. What bad service!!

I agree with emcosmo, they have to make money too. Of course you will get a better price selling it yourself on eBay because you cut out the middleman. But it's more hassle for you in that case.

Another super bad experience to add to the mix! I have bought and sold with BBOS for awhile now, and even though they had low offers-didn't mind because of the ease of it all....this was actually a buying screwup! I have also spent thousands at BBOS Private Sale before and have never had a problem until this one big doozy. I stopped receiving email promos from them for awhile, but never noticed it because I got all their other emails..but one bag caught my eye and when I did my usual google search for coupons, found that there was a promotion only a few days before that I never knew about! I emailed and was told that was fixed. I called to say that I would still like the bag, but was worried that if I waited for the next sale, that the bag would be gone...no help. No manager. I called twice. Finally called the next day and got the manager just to be blown off again. Not even an apology! I was steamed that I had to spend an extra 200-250$ because of their email glitch (which on of the SAs said was the problem and that a lot of people were experiencing this) but was even more pissed at the total lack of apology or caring. The manager even said that the pre-discount price was good enough and that he didnt believe me that i didnt get the email! They all just wanted me off the phone! I was really patient and didn't loose my temper at all, which I am proud of, but there is No Way I will ever buy from them again! I really wanted that purse too...
