Experiences with SELLING to Bag Borrow or Steal

I sold two more bags...got the check in 10 days. Granted I proabaly could get more money selling them myself-but I just don't have the time and to me it's easier for them to pay shipping etc. and sell it. Truthfully-I always buy my bags on sale and with coupon codes; or at Off Fifth- and often can sell them at about the same prices...

They've offered me $427 for a Burberry Mini Manor that I maybe used 5 times (it's pristine!) I bought it in 2008 and have rarely used it, it's just too small. Do you think that's a fair price? I have it ready to ship but my palms are sweatin! Any input would be great. TIA!

After much hemming and hawing I shipped BBOS my Burberry (paid my own label with insurance/tracking for the peace of mind - can't trust that post office!) in about 2 weeks total I got my check! I never use the bag anyway so I'm pretty happy with the money :)

Yep, sounds like it's just a waiting game now... I just wanted to check with others to see if they were experiencing the same timelines as myself... If I was the only one who was waiting this long, I would be even more worried. You and CoachGirlJami have reassured me that this is normal for BBOS. Thanks for sharing your experience!

They emailed me a few days ago that my check is in the mail. I have received the check and I have cashed the check already. I would definitely sell bags to them again...Maybe the bags that I have trouble selling myself.

I would not use them. Go with Yoogis closet. I sent them some pics and Yoogi offered me double what Avelle was going to offer me.

See I had the opposite experience! I submitted to Yoogi's first and then to Avelle. Avelle offered me just over double what Yoogi's offered. I sold with Avelle. I am happy overall, just wish their timelines were a bit better explained on the website. I think what they pay just depends on their current stock and the brand. I don't know how else to explain the differences everyone has with the offer prices.

I agree with kelly_rachelle. I did the same thing and Yoogi's quote was really low, so I ended up selling to Avelle.

I used to be a big advocate of their services. But now I'm pissed! The first time I sold them a few bags, it took 9 days from beginning to end (submitting my bag online, to receiving the check). Now it's been 9 days and I still haven't heard jack! WTF!?!

Jumping in here from lurking, but wanted to comment on all the waiting going on. IMO the USPS is going through MAJOR problems at the moment, I do a lot of shipping and lots of my Priority Mail pieces have been taking a week or more lately. It's possible these delays aren't the fault of your consignment companies, but the post.

USPS could be having issues with all the bad weather going on around the country... but I checked tracking on a Thursday and it stated that my packages were received at BBOS at 12:30pm. BBOS did not confirm that they had received my packages until Friday the next week... a full 8 days after I know they got them. I then got my check the following Thursday. So overall from the day I accepted the offer and shipped the packages until I got the check was 17 days. Also for me mail time is quick because I'm only a state away from the BBOS Private Sale warehouse. Either they are getting swamped with inventory or my stuff just got lost in the warehouse. *This was about 2 weeks ago*

More interesting info on BBOS:

I submitted two Prada bags that are IDENTICAL. I submitted them to BBOS about 6 hours apart. I bought them on the same day, at the same retailer, and the only difference is the color. Well I got back two completely different quotes! There was a $75 difference. So when I called to find out what that was about, the guy said "Well two different people quoted them"
So it would seem, that some of the "quoters" are a bit more stingy than others...
