Experiences with SELLING to Bag Borrow or Steal

I've seen all of my bags and they are listed at about three times what I sold them for...someone is going to pay way too much for those bags if they pay what Avdelle has them priced at. All my bags were authentic, but I'd purchased them on sale and their prices are more than what I orgirnally bought them for!

Their offers seem to be hit or miss. I submitted a bunch of items and they got back to me with offers very fast - most within a day but at most within 2 days. Their offers can be low but have generally been higher than those offered by other direct purchase sites. So far I sold 2 sunglasses, which brought fair offers, but I'm still debating on the bags...

One thing that would have been nice though is some sort of confirmation that they received the items - which I know they did since I purchased delivery confirmation separately at the post office - and an estimate of how long it will take them to assess the items and send out a check. Especially considering their communication prior to my accepting the offer were very good.

Keeping my fingers crossed for a smooth transaction!

I just found on their site 4 out of the 5 bags/wallet I sold to them. I'll tell you what seeing them felt like. It felt like seeing your recent ex with another women. Even though you're the one that broke up with him.:shucks:

Hilarious but well put! I'm afraid of that so I'm telling myself I won't look on the site afterward but not sure if I'll have the self control...

There's always something about someone else wanting what you had, even if you don't want it anymore! Like putting down something at a sale just to have a bunch of other women fighting for it right after you let go of it.

Just an update...I just received my check from BBOS. They emailed me the other day to let me know that the check was in the mail. So, I think it did take two weeks for the whole transaction to be completed.

LVgirl888 - thanks for the update!

One good thing about Avelle is that even though their offer emails state that the offer will expire within 7 days, when you look in your selling history on the site it shows that the offer is actually good for 30 days. Which gives me time to think things over when the offers are only slightly lower than what I was looking for.

^Yup. I like having 30 days to think over if I was really gonna sale my bag to them. I would definitely sell my bags to BBOS again. I wish that they would offer a little more $$$.

I sold a new, never worn Chanel and I didn't like the cash offer but took the credit instead. The cash was way too low but the credit happen to be exactly what I paid. Although I agree with Mink about the receipt confirmation issue, I feel they do offer better trade and money options. I think BBOS is a great option for cosignment.

With the first bag that I sold to them, since they didn't receive a response from me, they sent another offer with an increase in the offer. I took it and ran:nuts:

I would only want to take store credit if I would realistically buy something off the BBOS private sale site (basically their retail site vs. their borrowing site) but it doesn't seem like they have much listed - at least not yet. I found just one thing that I would maybe want so I contacted live CS with a bunch of questions.

Here's the info I received:
- they can't hold anything for you even if you're pending a merchandise credit
- you can't purchase something and apply the pending merchandise credit retroactively once it goes through (even if the item is in their hands or you have an offer from them)
- they can't tell you anything about the actual condition of an item except that it has gone through a "rigorous inspection process"
- you can only get a store credit for a return (even if you paid with a credit card)
- most items are put up for sale only after they have gone through the borrowing rotation and enough time has passed where they are in less demand, among other reasons

This information deters me from taking the store credit even though the credit offer is so much more reasonable. I'm afraid to take the store credit only to have the bag I want go out of stock by the time they've processed it. Also, I would have to order the bag without knowing what kind of condition it's in even though the bags they sell are mostly, if not all, previously borrowed (and therefore much used) bags.

I think they should at least retroactively apply credit if you have pending credit that clears within a certain period of time - say 30 days after purchase - to encourage store credit transactions and increase sales. Doesn't make the best business sense to me.

All this doesn't mean I won't sell to them though - I have and if it goes well, will probably continue to do so. I'll probably just stick to cash and take my chances on Ebay/Bonz for items that got lowball offers.

An update on my pending sale - I got an email saying that my items were received and are being reviewed. So I guess they do send confirmation emails - it just takes some time for them to put it in the system and process it. Hoping to get my check soon!:yahoo:
