I know it can be confusing with different leathers called similar names, but this thread is for Barenia Faubourg only.

For the original (smooth) Barenia please post here:

Lately I’ve seen a number preloved BF Bs in local pawn store. It makes me wonder if people are not fully satisfied with this leather.
I am. My B35 BF is my absolute favorite bag. I also have croc, gator, Chèvre, Togo and Clémence B/K so I think that’s saying something. I also think the leather has done well for H because it is being used on a number of different bags now.

I finally brought out my BF last weekend for the first time :) To the BF experts - can I carry it without twilly sometimes? Will the leather develope more uneven tone as time goes by? Thanks you!

I hope someone here can help. I had a little mishap with my smooth barenia watch strap. Today I had salad for lunch and to my horror found 2 oil stain on the strap. My initial reaction was to scrub them off and it spread a little bit. I dabbed 2 dots of water right on the oil stains, well of course the water evaporated but the oil stains still there. I'm stupid.

I can't find the thread for smooth Barenia leather treatment or whatever it was titled, can someone point to the right way?
Or perhaps if someone has a good trick for oil stain removal on Barenia please let me know.
TIA

I would message docride. She is excellent with barenia and may be able to help. I believe another user had an oil stain and was able to use some talcum power or something on it to help lift the stain. Unfortunately oil is tricky with barenia. I would flip through this thread and see if you can find anything helpful.

Cry....
I will email docride, If i can find the email address, thanks so much for your reply. I did remember seeing a thread and reading about a TPFer who treated her Barenia birkin based on Docride's instruction. If anyone had the same experience, please do let me know.

I’ve successfully used corn starch on my barenia watch strap to get out oil stains (I was cooking while wearing the watch and a little bit of hot oil accidentally splattered my band). I just covered the stains with a generous heap of corn starch and let it sit for a few days. Each day I would brush aside the corn starch to inspect and put an new layer on. I think I let it sit for about 3 days or so and the oil stains lightened significantly. One of them disappeared entirely and the other was still barely visible but has diminished with time since the incident. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Hi Lilmiz, thanks for the suggestion. I actually had to google what cornstarch is and according to Miss google and some friends, it is what we call corn flour here in UK. I will fly to the supermarket tomorrow to get it. If anyone is interested on how the result would be pm me. Thank you Mods for allowing me to swerve off track a bit.

I had, I think, either denim transer or a line of dirt along the bottom edge of the back of my B30.

I took a Lexol Wipe (the one for saddles/equestrian products) and did 2 fast wipes and it was gone. Some grey coloring or dirt came off onto the wipe.

When applying, I don’t fold the fabric wipe and wipe. That’s just too many layers of wet, solution saturated material. I simply opened it flat and used the corner of the wipe to clean the edge. It’s just the right amount of wetness.
