The buyer said that she decided to not take the bag because the price was too high (it wasn't) and that the bag was damaged according to the EBAY authenticators. Not true, I always take excellent pictures but forgot one corner of the bag. Ebay contacted me saying the little scuff was not in my pictures so they were going to let the buyer decide if she still wanted the bag. Ebay then returned the bag and the scuff came right off with a leather wipe. I re-listed for a higher price and it sold again and was authenticated without issues and sent to another buyer.
It's about bloody time !!! Speaking of time, let's hope the sleazeballs that have been sentenced to jail time actually SERVE their full sentences.
It's just a damn shame that the guy at the top (or should that be BOTTOM?) of the Ebay swamp walked away without even a slap on the wrist. There's no way all this could have gone on without his knowledge and his outright approval. General Motors has him now and may they choke on him.
For anyone not familiar with the disgusting story -
Amazon. Etsy. eBay. Lots of companies appeared in David and Ina Steiner’s E-commerce newsletter. Only one tried to take them out.

eBay stalking scandal
"...Members of eBay's executive leadership had long been bothered by the couple's posts. Under pressure in early 2019 to enhance performance, the company felt a new sense of urgency. For example, in April 2019, Wenig sent the post about how outsized his compensation was compared to typical employees to eBay’s chief communications officer at the time, Steve Wymer.[6] Wymer replied that eBay was "going to crush this lady."[6] Wenig texted Wymer weeks later: "Take her down."[6] Wymer took their concerns to the head of eBay's security division, Jim Baugh, whose team began harassing the Steiners at home and online.[6] Wymer texted Baugh that Ina Steiner was a "biased troll who needs to be BURNED DOWN;" that he wants "to see ashes;" and that Baugh should do "whatever it takes"...
"...A cyberstalking and harassment campaign against the owners of the online newsletter ECommerceBytes occurred in 2019. This eventually led to charges against seven members of eBay's global security team. The harassment began after an article was published in ECommerceBytes about eBay's litigation against Amazon. Wenig texted a communications executive "If you are ever going to take her [ECommerceBytes writer Ina Steiner] down... now is the time." A subsequentcyberstalking and harassment campaign against the newsletter's authors led to charges against seven members of eBay's global security team. Wenig was not charged in the case...."
An Ebay-USPS question. Purchased an item on ebay about a month ago and it never arrived. Tracking shows it's somewhere in PA, "in transit" for the past month. I put in a missing item search for USPS but never received a response. Several weeks passed. Placed an "Item Not Received" request on ebay requesting reimbursement. In response the seller supposedly posted new tracking information, according to the message I received from ebay. But it's the same tracking number. Hugh? What's up with that? She won't reimburse. Thoughts? I guess I'll wait for the obligatory 4 days and contact ebay.

Putting in the same tracking information is what we always advise sellers. Once ebay gets involved, you will get a refund as long as the tracking still shows it hasn't been delivered. The seller is probably hoping that if she waits for the last possible minute, it might get delivered. After you get your refund, the seller can open an insurance claim with the post office. Most of the time eventually you will get your package, even if you have gotten a refund, and you will be under no obligation to return it or repay the seller.

I know ebay has a deadline for filing an "item not received" claim. I think it's 30 days after the date at which the item was scheduled to be delivered. I wanted to get in a claim before that deadline passed.
Years ago I bought a ring on ebay and it never arrived. Again, it was from a seller in PA. The seller reimbursed me. Then about 7-8 months later the ring finally arrived. Since the seller had reimbursed me--and she hadn't bought tracking or insurance, just dropped it in an envelope--I mailed it back to her. Months later I received a message from her. USPS had taken over 2 months to get the ring back to her according to the postmark. USPS in PA must be really messed up.
Again, thank you for your response. I appreciate it.

I wish more buyers were honest like you. I sold a item that didn't get delivered so I had to refund. It was a $300 item but I hadn't bought extra insurance so I got $100 back from the post office. A few weeks later, the buyer got the item. She didn't bother to tell me. About a month later, I found it listed for sale. She made a nice profit.

That sucks. I don't know how some people's conscience would permit them to do that. I had originally thought of e-mailing the seller to say that if the item eventually appears in my mailbox and she had reimbursed me, then I would reimburse her. But I didn't want to confuse the situation. But I know how hard it can be at times to get reimbursed by USPS for lost packages. Been there, done that.

The insurance claim with the post office was paid surprisingly quick, probably only a week or two after I submitted it. I got the money before she got the bag. If she had paid me, I would have no idea how to reimburse the post office!
Update: It's been 2 months since the package disappeared in the USPS system. The only response to the lost package search was a canned "We're still looking." It was jewelry so I suspect it was pinched en route. Ebay refunded me.
A buyer has filed a payment dispute. This relates to a coat I sold to her that she claimed wasn't delivered back in May/June (refer p.673 and following)... case was resolved in my favour because there was signature on delivery and a photo of the package at her door.
Now she's filed this credit card dispute, saying she never received the item.
Honestly I'm almost beside myself. 10 days ago my husband died suddenly and very unexpectedly. I'm preparing for his funeral. I could let this claim go through but it's not a cheap item.
How can I sort this quickly with eBay? I still have a photo image of the signature and parcel at the buyer's door.
Thank you all
ETA - I just looked at the buyer's comments in the claim. It reads - "I haven't received my dress. It was probably delivered to the wrong address and returned to the seller which did not respond to us"

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I can't come up with words to express it.
Ebay should protect you in this case. Respond the same way you did the first time, including the tracking number and showing the proof of delivery. Maybe even mention that she refers to a dress when the sale was for a coat. She might be mixing up your item with another of her purchases.

Thank you whateve. I really wasn't thinking straight and needed some calm, practical advice.
Just a few days ago I'd actually deleted the image of the delivery scan with buyer's signature, so as soon as I saw the dispute I raced upstairs to my desktop to find and retrieve it from the Trash - thank goodness I found it right away!

FWIW, I keep all informed delivery tracking info archived in my gmail account in the event it's ever needed.
This is a case you should win but you do need to respond to it.
Since the claim is non-receipt and you have tracking proof of delivery as well as the s.c., upload that to the case. Also, make mention that the buyer already lost her ebay case for the same claim. (In the message part of the claim, I also recommend that you add, "according to USPS, tracking #(fill in blank) was delivered on (date) at (time) and signed for by (name). Additionally, buyer's claim refers to a dress but I didn't sell a dress to her! It was a coat she received. Perhaps she has me confused with another seller."
When you sell on eBay, we protect you from abusive buying behavior and from events outside your control.
