Recently purchased a rare bag, that bag has not shipped. It shows up in my purchased items but when I click on the original listing it appears to still be active with a higher asking price. Can the seller do this? I’m tempted to cancel the order. It’s an experienced Japanese reseller with great feedback and 1,000s of transactions.
Many Thanks in advance.
Once the estimated delivery date has passed, you can go to the order and open an INR (item not received) case.

Seller will have to show tracking pricing delivery and s.c. (if the item total including shipping) is >$750. If the seller can’t prove delivery, you’ll get you money back and can also leave appropriate feedback. Doing as I advised will ding the seller’s account.

Don’t cancel. That will give the seller a free pass for a buyer requested cancellation.

Thank you! I will follow your advise.

7 days ago I bought a bag on eBay (I never buy anything significant on eBay anymore but this time I did). Not overly expensive but hard to find and I'd missed it everywhere else.
Plenty of communication over several days with the seller in the UK prior to purchase, mostly about shipping to me in Australia and then difficulty with making the purchase because seller couldn't fix the listing settings for my location, so it was a bit complicated. I thought things were a little bit *off* with the seller, but 100% feedback etc, etc and nothing I could describe beyond something not altogether right.

So i buy the bag, there's a bit more complication from seller's end, and then seller says all good to go with Royal Mail Express. Then nothing. No shipping confirmation, no tracking, no ETA on the order, no communication from the seller. Seller has gone totally no contact.

How and when do I start an INR when there's no ETA on this order?
Never had this happen before!

Thanks all

Did you actually buy it from the seller on ebay? Or did the seller send information through text or an email? If you paid through the order on ebay, you should be able to file through the order.

Go to your ebay page and look at "purchases."

Find the particular item and on the right side of the page, there's "more actions."

Click the dropdown and click on "I didn't receive it.

If the seller can't prove delivery (and s.c. if $750 or higher), you can go back to the case in a few days (they'll tell you the date) and request ebay to step in. They'll close it in your favor.

If the seller manages to come up with a tracking number and you ultimately receive something, you can wait until you receive it and verify it's "as described."

But one step at a time.

Thanks so much BeenBurned, I have a confirmed order with an order number from eBay UK and payment confirmation to eBay Commerce UK from PayPal.
I'd been searching for those actions under my order but only four actions were available and none concerning INR. I've just found the INR action available under 'Help' and was offered to follow the INR procedure for the bag until advised I can't proceed until 5 September, the final delivery date.
So at least that's something.

Sorry for the confusion. The layout of the eBay platform differs slightly between sites - this being one example - and that's why I was lost. When I looked at the order I was automatically taken to eBay UK and when I went through 'Help' I was on eBay Australia.

There wouldn't be any confusion if the seller had done the right thing and uploaded tracking when postage was organised (I paid for expensive postage with full tracking) and then hadn't ignored my request for shipping confirmation and tracking upload to eBay.

I wonder if I'll receive a bag?

You should be able to open case as “ not delivered “ if no show by the supposed delivery date from the order you made
I didn't realize there was an "estimated" delivery date. That's good! (The seller must have a lengthy handling time.)

Once the delivery date arrives and passes, the option of opening an INR claim will show up, at which time, you'll be able to open your claim.

Most of us want the item we purchased but if a seller is a scammer (or a flake), at least you can take comfort in knowing that you'll be made whole.

I didn’t have a delivery estimate until I followed the ‘Help’ option today. The order on eBay UK has no delivery estimate, so I was relieved to find there is one.

The seller charged me courier rates for very fast shipping, which was the only postage option offered.
In due course I’ll find out if the bag has been posted and what service was used. International courier services can make demands of the recipient - e.g. be available in person to accept the package or it will be returned to sender in 48 hrs - so tracking is more than a courtesy.

Anyway, I don’t feel so lost now I’ve got a delivery estimate.

I would just cancel the order because it’s costy and estimated delivery time is over a month, Correct me if I’m wrong, I believe there is only one month time you may open case? Not worth the stress and risk to me even if it’s a birkin 25 in gold full set or a limited edition Chanel flap unused.

Isn't the time to file from the delivery date? So it should be ok.

There's no reason to cancel - I won't be cancelling. Thanks though

Yes. Unfortunately there was no delivery estimate on the order. It just advised delivery by Royal Mail.
It wasn't until today when I *asked* for help with the order and followed prompts to file INR that I was given the information that I could file INR (if necessary) after 5 September because that's the last day of the delivery estimate window.

I'm happy to sit tight until then.

The seller sounds spacy but a buyer has to open a case within 30 days of receipt or within 30 days of the estimated delivery date.

I certainly wouldn't wait 30 days after estimated delivery! I'd open it the next day.
