Does anyone use Poshmark?

Just a general question to those who sell on PM: why do random people comment on listings asking if something is “still available”. I mean of course it’s available if it’s listed (wouldn’t be listed otherwise). It happens fairly often. Is this part of some weird scam? I don’t get it. Another comment I’ve received several times recently is “your pictures don’t show up well on the app, please text me”. That one is a clear scam, but the former, I don’t get it and I honestly find the question very irritating. My position is “ask a valid question, make an offer or move along“.

I'm not sure. I think a lot of listings never get sold because the sellers end up ghosting. That's because listings never expire. Why would they ask and then not buy or make an offer?

How does Poshmark compare to Mercari? Is it easier to sell stuff on PM?
I find I sell more stuff on Poshmark than Mercari. I think if you participate in sharing, your items get more views. The thing I like best about Poshmark is the shipping label. I don't have to worry about weighing my package. With Mercari, you need to figure out how much shipping is going to cost ahead of time. For lightweight items, like scarves or charms, Mercari is better but for heavier items, I prefer Poshmark. Poshmark fees are higher than Mercari.

I have a few items that have been listed a year ago and recently got this questions from a user. Turns out the item she was interested in got misplaced and I can no longer find it. I appologized and marked the item as unavailable after that.

So it make sense to ask if the item has been listed for a while IMO. Also, it makes sense to check if the seller is still active on the platform if items have not been listed recently.

I might have done this at times to open up communication since a lot of sellers don't answer questions. Recently I asked for dimensions on something and the seller told me she'd sold it elsewhere. I appreciated the response as so many sellers ignore questions.
You get all kinds on Posh. there is one seller whose handbag I have in my "likes"
I made her an offer on it a long time ago (like a year). she declined and its still there. If you're not motivated to even counter a fair offer, why bother listing it?

Interesting, yes I find that so odd but I guess it happens (Ie why bother listing, makes no sense to me). Thanks for sharing

right...when I list something I want to sell it....not give it away but I will almost always respond to an offer....and that one I talked about I had bought from before....it's still there and I've lost interest. the reason I know it's there is it's in my "likes"

I have been selling on PM for over a year and so far great luck. The audacity of this potential buyer though: "I appreciate your explanation. I don’t mind to pay the tag price if I feel the experience is respectful and pleasant and worth it. What’s going on with the other dress?" Um excuse me?????? I travel for my job every week. This rude buyer is messaging me under a bundle(I state I do not accept, trades or bundles!!!!) It's a way for potential buyers to message you. I have all brand new designer dresses, coats, jackets, blazers, designer shoes......) everything is authentic, new with tags. She keeps messaging me to provide measurements of every item. First of all. I have a life outside of PM!!! She did submit an offer for 2 designer dresses for almost 50% off. I declined her offer. She then posts this under the bundle: "I appreciate your explanation. I don’t mind to pay the tag price if I feel the experience is respectful and pleasant and worth it. What’s going on with the other dress?" Excuse me??? I replied and told her I bent over backwords responding to her 20 questions over the past week and I have pefect feedback and customer service. I also told her she's blocked!!! What a bish!!!! I don't have to sell any of my items. I will not tolerate people like that.

I'm sorry you're having a bad experience with that potential buyer. But I don't understand when you said you don't accept bundles? Trades I understand as that is a risk, but why wouldn't you want someone to bundle multiple purchases? Even if you don't offer a discount, the buyer still saves the extra shipping charge and as long as the total package is under 5 lbs, there's no additional cost for the seller. The bundle feature on Posh is one of the best out there in my opinion - one of the few benefits over other platforms. Just curious why you wouldn't take advantage of it for multiple sales.

I don't take bundles, because of the high value of my items. A buyer can say they didn't receive one of the items, lie if they don't like one of the items and only return one item. It's too much risk for me. If I had items under $500 each I might consider it.

I agree! I sell a lot of things in bundles.
