Do You Prefer Size 30 or 35 Birkin?

No probs! My pleasure. :flowers:

I travelled quite a bit with my Black 30. It is the least stressful, a lot lighter compared to a 35cm, and I love it for that. I have had this Birkin for 5 years (it's my first!), and it still holds up really well.
I wouldn't mind another Black Birkin myself, but maybe in a Size 35cm with GHW next.

Currently, I am using my Etoupe the most. The colour is extremely versatile, I like the more casual look of a larger 'Tote', and it is ever so slightly more noticeable when compared to a 'Black' Bag.... :p

In terms of usefulness? Black 30 definitely. I can bring it everywhere. Goes with both Jeans, Suits.....And Little Black Dresses for Cocktails!

Thanks:flowers: Do you think that there is enough of space in your 30 cm Birkin?

I have started to think of a lining in another colour (my SA has said that I could do that, but it would take longer time to get it), but that is a difficult decision as well...

Yes....Lotsa space!!

I can carry:

long wallet
make-up bag
camera
coin pouch
humoungous set of Keys (like 20-30 Keys!)
2 Mobile Phones
Large Shawl/Pashmina
Organizer (the LV one....:ninja:)

....And still close the bag!

I never thought that it would be that difficult to decide! Right now I think that I will go for the 30 Birkin. Regarding the leather, I wonder what would be the best- togo or clemence? If I understand it correctly togo might hold the shape of the bag better- perhaps the bag will look smaller if chosing clemence?
I am unsure of it I will have the possibility to making a SO and have the lining in another colour, but if I can- what colour do you think would look nice with black (and PHW)?

I'd love to see a lot of action pics of 30 Birkins;)

The bag won't look any different size wise whether you choose togo or clemence. Clemence will slouch and togo generally won't so it really depends if you wanted a structured looking bag or not.

TBH as this will be your first bag I'd stick with it as a standard bag with black lining and then go for something different when you get your next one. I'm doing an SO in June and will be going for a contrasting colour lining but keep changing my mind on the colour of the bag. I was sure I wanted graphite with cyclamen but am now thinking of a blue with a pink lining so I have something more summery

Thanks for your reply and your advice! What I really want is a "small grain clemence" but I wonder if that is possible to chose?

I do not think that I will be able to buy more Birkins than this one, but I like the idea of a contrasting colour lining.

Kashmira, since it's going to be your only Birkin for a while then 30 is the right size for your first B: fits a lot as you can see from all the ladies responses and I attest to it myself as well; the 30 size is more versatile (bag-handbag-even evening if you play it right, e.g open/closed/dressed up/down,etc).
It seems like a tough choice but you won't go wrong with 30 size and I guarantee you will absolutely love your first 30 B!

No unfortunately you won't be able to chose the grain. If you want small grain why not go for togo?

If you like the idea of contrasting lining and want a black bag why not go for something like red to really make a statement

I am not so fond of the veining of Togo, but definitely prefer its smaller grains. In terms of "slouchiness" (is that the correct word in English?!) I assume that the difference cannot be huge between togo and clememce given that the bag won't be that big. I prefer a bit more casual look which speaks for clemence.

Black/red is a great suggestion and I am also thinking of black/framboise.

I wish I have action pics to show you that ultimately, it's not your size but what you need to carry in your bag that matters. I'm petite too, and I was so sure I was destined for 30cms until DD came along and I needed to carry a lot more things when we go out. So now I can't live without my 35cms.

And speaking of which, the first person I thought of was Accessorize*me! She's petite too, but totally ROCKS with her 35cms.

I'm 5'1" too and I have a 35 gold togo... I love it but I do find it a bit big for my frame and a bit heavy.. I only have my wallet, make-up kit, keys, mints, phone in it... NOw i'm obsessing about getting a 30.... :nuts:

i am 5'2 and ideally i wanted a 30 cm but then i tried the 35cm and fell head over heels in love with my 35 cm birkin. it is easy to carry and big enough to fill my stuff in. i have it in the clemence leather and honestly its heavy but i kinda figured out a way that makes it less heavy.... maybe its all in my head but i keep my birkin loosely open. And for the slouchiness of the clemence leather mine still hasnt become slouchy.
