Do You Prefer Size 30 or 35 Birkin?

Hi, I believe you have to try both sizes to see how you look. I am 5'8 and love my B35 Black and Mykonos blue. I do not tend to carry too much or heavy items in them, so I don't feel they are heavy for me. Good luck in finding the bag you love!

Thank you for your reply and for the picture of your beautiful bags. I already decided for the B30 as i know I love the size and waiting for it to arrive. As stated in my previous replies, the desire to get a B35 is still there and will hopefully get one at some point ☺️

Thank you @annaria funny you just said that as I am eyeing a HAC 32 right now 😄😊
HAC32s are the BEST. @annaria , can you still wear yours on the crook of your elbow with a lot of winter wear? I live in a warm climate and it's not a consideration for me, but not being able to do so because of thick jackets and sweaters would be the only reason I wouldn't endorse it for everyone.

Hi ladies! I'm looking into buying a Black pre-loved Birkin. I'm so conflicted about whether I should go for the 30 or 35.
For reference, I am about 5'2 and looking to use it as an everyday bag. I love the larger handbag look and was originally going to go for the 30, but after seeing some 30 vs 35 videos, I just can't decide!
For the ladies who own both sizes, is there any advantage to one or the other? I know it's preference but I'd love to hear any thoughts!
Thanks in advance!

Hi @diamondgirl2 so I’m talking with my experience of owning both Birkin 30 and 35 and I’m the same height as you. Birkin 35 is extremely heavy and it gets very tiring to carry it over a long period of time whereas the Birkin 30 is a perfect size, it’s neither too small nor too big.
Thank you so much! Very insightful. I'll go with the 30. Can't wait to share when it arrives!

I carry my B30s so much more than my B35 which is beautiful (turquoise Clemence) but heavy even before I put anything in it. A B30 is the perfect size in my mind: it can accommodate my work laptop if need be; I can carry it at my elbow in addition to hand carry; and it’s lightish depending on leather.
Good luck! I look forward to seeing mod shots!

I have the same thoughts of the other ladies shared who responded! Both sizes look great depending on your vibe, but B35 can get quite heavy and it is a little more unwieldy. It is easier to use B30 in most daily situations, eg it fits easier when placing it down, it can pass easier through a cracked car door when the person next to you is parked too close etc.

I love my B 30 in Togo leather in black .I was quite surprised when I carried in the boutique .It felt light compared to my garden party .I have it since a year and use it often especially when travelling . Initially I asked for the b 25 but changed my wishlist for 30 and glad I did .

If you calculate the volume, a B35 is c50% bigger than a B30. We are a similar height and when I tried on a B35 it was the depth which was the most problematic (for me).

I’m 5’2” and own both size B30 and B35. B30 is plenty big enough for most days. Occasionally I use the larger size for bringing wine to friends. If it wasn’t so heavy, I might use it for travel. On me, a 35 looks like a travel size bag, and I’m medium build, not super slim or small boned.
