Do You Prefer Size 30 or 35 Birkin?

I am not a collector for sure and do not intend to become one. I want to keep my H collestion small so I can wear all of them and enjoy them. Probably one or max max 2 B35 would be more than enough for me.
As I mentioned in other replies I have no particular purpose in my mind for a b35 over a b30. I just know that I want both sizes which makes my decision a mess 😂
I may get a b35 and realise I only gravitate towards b30 or not.. I will never know until I make an expensive mistake I guess..
I didn’t mean collector in the sense of “put a pristine version in a glass cabinet”, but rather, as an appreciator of different leathers (etc), you might choose a particular example purely for that reason (and still enjoy using it as you please).

Either way, if you think you are definitely going to get a B35 one way or another, then this combo is a pretty attractive option.

This is a wise advice because the price is not even the attraction as it is a bit more expensive than what B35 is currently on the resale market in a different leather. The B35 and B30 i am considering are roughly the same price.
I literally NEVER sell my bags or buy any with the intention to sell in the future so obviously regrets for me will be expensive ones 🙃
30 is also too big for me if we are only taking into consideration what I carry a super mini is enough for my card holder and lipsticks/mirror and keys but again I love big bags 😂
You might find this thread useful. ESP. @Meta ’s post 83 and others here :

I am 5’2 (about the same as @haute okole, and this is the B30 on me. I am medium build, with a relatively broad shoulder, and the B30 still looks like a large bag. By the way, I have tried to lift @haute okole ‘s fringe B35. It requires serious muscle and might be why she has amazing arms  (not really joking lol)

Absolutely beautiful 😍 and seeing both side by side makes me realise that I do love them both!! From this distance the 35 does not appear massively bigger but obviously this is just a photo nothing like real life .. Thank you so much for sharing
Thank you so much. Glad to have helped! You are correct, the angle is deceiving. ;)

I have mainly 30s.* I rarely use the 35B that I kept. There is a big size and weight difference
It might be a good travel bag for a car. But. I dont even travel with any 28K/ 30B.
I would not recommend buying a 35 until you can at least try one on. The depth of a 35 is also significant
Many of us have purchased the wrong size B due to a great price, color, leather, and regretted it.

* to be honest, a 30 is often too large for my daily use.
I agree with this 100%.

There are many great advices here. But I still think you should try a B35 before committing to one because it is really a love it or hate it situation. Perhaps a friend?

I have all sizes. I use the 30s the least these days. B25s are used for daily stuff as I am down to one dog.

I do use B35 for work, travel and shopping. I live somewhere that we get charged for shopping bags. So the B35 is extremely eco friendly.

Good luck with your purchase.

Thank all so so much for taking the time and sharing your individual opinions which are extremely helpful ❤️
@Goldenbelle black Barenia omg it must be so sooo beautiful 😍 Barenia is also on my list. Hope you get to enjoy her for many many more years in good health 🙏🏻
@Veritybelle yes I do appreciate leather above anything else and the attraction for me is always the leather as a number one regardless of the brand.. Box and Barenia and the veiny fjord are also on my list ❤️ I also thought the same may as well get it now but then I know a 30 and I know that is a perfect grab and go something I am not familiar with the 35 yet hence the dilemma..
@880 thanks so much for sharing. The 30 looks perfect on you! My dilemma is not about how large it may look on me as I am only 5'5 but I feel 30 is perfect/almost small for me 😂 mind you, I might be delusional though hh the weight is obviously a different matter as I have never tried it in a birkin..
@meowlett Unfortunately I do not have any who owns a 35 .. and as I understand the K35 is different to a B35..

I am still undecided and will sleep on it! If anyone has more advice please feel free. I will keep you updated on my final decision. (If money was no objection I definitely would have got both! I am not an impulsive buyer and like to really take my time and make an informed decision I am certain about to not have expensive regrets) ❤ The risk with this is that sometimes I am too late 😂 so the right push is useful sometimes..

Ok a bit of a strange suggestion but are you at all crafty or handy? Can you take some sturdy cardstock or cardboard and cut it into the size and shape of the 35? If you can make it 3d to get the depth that's even better. Or maybe take a cardboard box or bag, that's similar in size to the b35 and hold it for a while .
It won't help with the weight of course, but you can see how it looks on you and how it feels ( especially since @880 mentions the depth can be a lot).

Here is my BF B30 next to my very old Courchevel B35. The difference is big. I will try to find a photo from the side. That is even a more shocking difference. It is a lot “deeper” than the K35.

I mean I like the B35. I hope that we can give you as much info to make the best call.
At your height, you can own the look of the B35 with no problem. But it does seem heavy to many. I had to stop using it after a surgery for a few years. I am back at it again.

Edited to add a photo “from the side”.

This was an old picture as I have stopped using twillies a few years ago.

The side photo really highlights the size difference

Well done
I completely support this and was wondering about suggesting it myself
Doing this saved me from an expensive mistake with a Bolide 30

It’s really best to try on, even if you have to go to a consignment shop just to see. Many like B30 but I just felt it looked silly small for my frame but B35 was perfect. I do also take the ruler/paper/scissors approach to try to get a feel for dimensions when shopping on line. But ultimately it is what you like best!
