Do You Prefer Size 30 or 35 Birkin?

I am not super tall 5'5.5" and 124# but I have a lot of stuff to carry so I go bigger..I am actually carrying a 36cm HAC and..I can work it..it does not look too big but then again..it's not very pursey either...
If you love Blue jean go for it! The gold in Clemence and Togo is very similar and if you didn't flip for it in clemence well you won't dig it in togo..IMO. If you are worried about BJ being too young have you thought of Rouge?? Would be fab with a skin tone that has yellow undertones...Best of luck!

OK, ok, it's not like the most comfortable tote in the world, but hey, if you're crazy enough to use a Birkin as a diaper bag, you'll suffer for fashion! :okay:
I toyed with the idea of using 35cm as a diaper bag for the longest time. The 35cm itself is already heavy, wouldn't it be heavier with baby's stuff in it?

Depends on the leather, I guess. I'm using my 35cm box as a diaper bag more than the togo or fjord ones. And also, depends on what you fill it with.

I hang it on the stroller and it's perfect for when I need to reach in and get a toy or something for DD.

I'm 5'2 and petite. Have both the 30s and 35s and much prefer the 35cm, especially with jeans for the casual look.

I find the 30cm a little more 'proper' and dressier, but easy to travel with because it is lighter.

Blue Jean is a gorgeous colour IMO, and Gold is more versatile albeit less striking. You can't go wrong with either one.
My Mom is 56 and she ROCKS the Blue Jean!

yea i even use a 40 as a diaper bag-somehow i got used to it and it doesnt feel as heavy anymore. and i do the same trick, hang it off of the stroller.

my mom is in her mid 50s too and she loves my BJ! she rarely takes her black birkin out and isnt a fan of the gold either. we love Hermes colors!

I am really short (155 cm- I assume that it corresponds to approx. 5'1'') and I really have a hard time to decide if I shall go for a 30 or a 35 Birkin (I will only be able to buy one Birkin). With the seach function being down I cannot find the other threads so I hope that someone can help me with my questions.

* I am thinking of either clemence or togo (most probably black with PHW). Does anybody know the weight of a Birkin (30 or 35 cm) in togo and/or in clemence?

* Does anyone (who is short) have action pics with a 30 AND a 35 Birkin?

* I need a bag that I can use every day (even when it is raining) and I believe that togo or clemence would be the best choice- is there some other leathers that are really "durable"?

Kashmira - what do you need to carry in your bag?

How big are the bags you have and love now?

Do you want a tote or a handbag?

These things will help to answer the question for you - and IMO are more important than your height. :smile1:

Thanks Mediana, I'm glad I can help! I've been doing a lot of research trying to decide what I want, if I ever get a chance to order my first Birkin, so I remembered seeing Pepper's very informative thread. It would be great if more people could contribute information on other leathers or sizes, as it's a wonderful resource!

kashmira, if you have a general idea of what you'd like to search the forum for, I use Google to search for information when the search function is down.
Type this in the search form:
site:forum.purseblog.com/hermes/
along with any key words (to find the threads I posted, i typed "site:forum.purseblog.com/hermes/ weight leathers" minus the quotes), and the results will be constrained to the hermes forum on tPF.

Also, I recall reading on this forum that this Japanese lady Mika, who I think owns the Japanese Hermes reseller store Herpla, says she is around 155 cm tall but always wears at 8 cm heels. Here is a link to her blog:

Here are links to specific posts where she is carrying a 35 cm Birkin:
