I think for your height, proportion wise, a 30cm Birkin would look more balanced to your frame. However, it always depends what you carry on your bag.

I currently have two bags which I like. One is approx. 27x20x10 cm (it is a bit small for my needs) and the other approx. 34x24x4 cm (it's an YSL Mombasa- it is a bit difficult to measure).
Based upon the pics in the links that Miinee posted (thank you so much Miinee for your help) I believe that the 30 Birkin would look the best, but is there room for a "rainbow" in it? Ideally I would like to be able to carry:
* very small umbrella
* sunglasses
* wallet
* agenda GM
* TPM Ulysse
* 1 or maybe 2 Karo PM
* Dogon purse
* coin purse
* business card holder (I will look at the Calvi)
* post-it note holder
* perhaps some other smaller things
What do you think?

You will have a hard time trying to fit all that in to a 30cm Birkin... Especially if you need to close the bag.
I carry quite a lot of things with me and my 35cm Birkins are just about big enough..! Proportion wise 30cm might be better for you but to hold everything that you'll need, I recommend 35cm.

and still have room.
I never close my birkin though...

I think proportionally a 30CM will look much better. A 35CM can potentially overpower your frame and make it look almost luggage like. Good luck with your decision and can't wait for your bag!
I am 5'1 and I think the 30cm looks better on me, but I would have problems fitting in everything you described in my bags! A slight problem there, oh dear!
I think a 30 will suit you better. I am 5'4 and found the 35 a little bit large for my frame compared to the 30, but I would definitely advise trying both on before you buy if at all possible. Some people prefer the look of a big bag, others prefer a smaller one. Either way, it's a big investment to make in a bag that is not right for you.
As for what you can fit in it, it depends on whether or not you feel comfortable with it open all of the time. As others have pointed out, if you're happy leaving the bag open, even a 30 can fit a ton of stuff, but it can still take quite a load when closed (although it can weigh quite a bit when you load them up, just as a warning).

I'm 5'4 as well and relatively thin(100Lbs) and since I've never tried any Birkin yet, I think I will try them both first, but 30cm is definately more appealing for everyday bag.
I tried 30 and 34 cm Lindy and 34cm looks too bulky and overpowering, not a good look. My 31cm Bolide is just perfect.
As far as fitting things into bag, I noticed that then larger my bag is than more needless things I manage to put in, carrying them around and never use them, like GPS for example.
I read all the threads that mentioned above, but trying differently sized bags in reality is the best solution JMO.
This is so true. People say the danger of oversized bags is like... scoliosis and ruined posture, but the real danger is becoming one of those people who can't leave the house without taking the kitchen sink.
Thanks for all your comments. Right now I am thinking of a 30 cm Birkin but that can change... Yesterday I was 100% sure of that I should have a black one but after having seen the pics of Accessorize*me's amazing Birkin in etoupe with fuschia lining I am not so sure any longer...

I find both Etoupe and Black extremely versatile colours, so you can't go wrong with either one!
Am around your height at 5'2-5'3 too! Have attached a pic of myself carrying a 30cm Black Togo for comparison. It's somewhere in the "Action Thread"....Hope you don't mind my re-posting.
I personally like the 35cm more because I can carry it over my shoulder like a large tote when it gets too heavy, or when I need my hands free.
I find both Etoupe and Black extremely versatile colours, so you can't go wrong with either one!

! I guess I could have either size because both sizes look great on you! I have realized that I have seen three of your bags (including this black beauty) and I love love love them all! Which one of your bags do you find the most useful?
