I love Damier, living in the UK, the weather is unpredictable and its the perfect print for this reason, also i love the pattern, im dying to get a trevi as this is my fave bag in the ebene range and its understated here in the uk, I see mainly monogram

I usually use Damier if it's raining. I want to get a Speedy ebene 30 soon. I think they're slightly more hard wearing / tougher than the mono because theyre darker. If I had to for instance I would put my ebene bag on a concrete floor.....but I would prob sit my mono whatever on my lap and have to endure that rather than put it on the floor....i just think mono is more fragile & so I am more protective over it than ebene

Good question! I think I would love mono more if they made the pieces with damier or macassar styled handles so yes the only reason I pick Damier is because the weather is so cr*p here in the UK 90% of the time the vachetta on mono would be terribly stained with water spots! but I do love the chocolate box appearance of the damier check!

I would also buy more LV mono bags if they didnt have vachetta as I dont like it when they get very dark.
I like damier ebene because I wear alot of navy, browns and neutral colors it looks very polished and rich. Will be getting a speedy 30 soon for this fall and winter :)

Same for me, depending on my wants at the time. Most of my bags and SLGs are Mono, but if I find something I really like in Damier Ebene (like the Speedy 35), I will definitely go for it.

i actually really loooooove all the damier lines.. both ebene and azur. imo patina looks beautiful on all the mono and the azur lines. i do feel like i gravitate towards ebene more because it seems more versatile and there's no worry about vach and its that darker, understated sort of elegance. azur is more sunny and bright. mono seems like the most sophisticated out of the bunch, but I agree with most here, it's just everywhere so it's lost its "gleam".

I love Damier ebene and azur. Not crazy about vachetta, but I prefer it on azur instead of mono. Would I buy more mono if they changed the vachetta? No, probably not....well, maybe a speedy 35 macassar...:thinkin:

I would like to eventually get a mono speedy 35 I have the Damier Azur speedy 35 and I really love it the vachetta is darkening and i like to watch it patina, I didnt mind the ebene until i tried it on and its just to much brown and felt masculine to me, my boyfriend was with me and he said that the ebene looked manly to him as well but he loved the way the Azur looked and I get so many compliments the color just feels clean and classy to me. I am not a fan of the checkers but in the light bluish color it seems fine I dont feel like im carrying around a checker board.

Interesting thread!

Damier Ebene is my favourite LV pattern hands-down. I have two bags and a wallet in it right now and am looking at purchasing more in the future (Damier Alma, I hear you calling to me!). Love the checks, love the brown that goes with pretty much everything, love the fact that it's low maintenance, love the fact that it's more under the radar and absolutely adore its elegance!

I have only one mono bag, a Speedy 35, and if I could swap it for a Damier I totally would.

I totally love the damier line, the color is such a beautiful brown tone, reminds me of hot chocolate. It's classy and not so often seen as the mono.
I also like the azur line, but I would never buy it, cause I HATE it, when the handels turn darker and darker!!!
If they would stay that light honey color, I would also buy a manhattan pm, cause I think that style looks cute, hey....what about a damier ebene manhattan pm, that would be awsome:yahoo:!
