My favorite pattern is mono but I love Damier Azur and also White MC. I'm not a fan of Damier Ebene but I do have one Speedy 30 that I use for bad weather days.
Do you like Damier because that's about the only option?

I'm saving for my first LV - I want a Speedy 25 (suits my height and what I need to carry better than the larger ones) - I've pretty much decided on damier ebene because of my fear of vachetta (every light coloured bag I've ever had lasted about a month before it was so filthy I threw it out - not so much 'me' but the environment, subway, etc.) I'd much rather get monogram if I could get it without the vachetta. I don't care for vernis, epi or the other leathers, or damier azur just because it's light and I know it wouldn't stay nice for me.
Well, I for once like damier because its discreet. It does not scream I have a Louis Vuitton. Please dont get me wrong I like it but - sometimes it can be a little bit to much. And well, people are judgmental and sometimes we like to think that others have fake and we the real deal. Besides If I got a penny for every time I heard someone say "she probably has a fake" my collection would be a whole lot bigger.
I was NEVER a mono fan...it's MUCH too showy, overdone and overly-faked. I didn't used to be nuts about Damier either, but now I love it in both ebene and azur. It really grew on me. Its classy, chic and understated, and it goes well with almost everything. I want a Speedy 35 in both, but I'm afraid of the vachetta on the azur getting dirty. Then there's the patina process...I prefer the look of vachetta when it's new and light. But I know it won't stay that way. Ebene is very low-maintenance. I use my ebene Neverfull a lot, and the canvas is perfect still. BTW, you don't have to wear brown to carry Damier in ebene...I use mine all the time, and I don't wear ANY brown. As a matter of fact, all of my clothes are black, and the ebene looks very chic with my outfits.
I agree with AAdams and Twirly Curls.... I like to carry styles that are not seen much, and that are not screaming LV like the Mono pattern (IMO) i prefer more subtle and "not too showy" like Twirly Curls said....My first LV was 8 months ago, and it was the Damier Ebene Berkeley....i love it, and havent seen anyone carry it yet, which makes me feel pretty awesome. My second choice, im debating on 2 Epi's as we speak. Its just so classy and elegant!

Although I think the mono is a beautiful pattern, I like the ebene because it is more understated. I prefer canvas right now over leather because it is so light, and I'd be very curious to see a new canvas design (print design, not style of bag) from LV!
I also agree with howardu09 - I like the patina on vachetta when it is medium brown. I actually prefer it over the look of new light vachetta, and I don't care for it when it gets really dark.

damier and epi - my go to lines at LV for everyday bags. Reasonable and worry free, classy and not faked everywhere. Have 4 damier ebene pieces and love them all.
^^ I agree. I have Mono pieces, but I don't carry them as often as I do my other LVs; probably because the others are LE or SO pieces, so I don't see my bags coming and going as often (if at all) when walking around... I've given a lot of my Mono pieces to my daughter...
IKWYM! I am getting burnt out on mono right now too. I have been carrying a lot of damier (ebene and azur) lately.
I prefer Damier over Mono, but like Epi most of all! I actually like the checkerboard pattern, but I want to see it come in other colours besides ebene and azur. I was thinking maybe a grey or purple would be really nice in the Damier print.
