Do you like Damier because that's about the only option?

i love damier for what it is (although I like the fact that it is practical without the vachetta) - I have ebene and azur (so there is the vachetta again).
for the longest time I didn't like the mono bec it has been faked so many times. but recently it has been growing on me, vachetta and all. i want to have that alma mm and a carryall!

for some reason not into leather bags these days - just too heavy as i have to carry so many things around with me.

I like damier ebene for it's classy look and versatility, besides the fact that it is easy to care for. Personally I love vachetta on LV bags (mono or not) and don't have an issue with it, although I must admit it requires more TLC to keep clean and good-looking.

Damier is actually my favourite pattern, together with vernis..
I'm talking about damier ebene.. i can't stand the idea of the patina on vacchetta..
it's my weakness
i find damier ebene super classy and easy to take care of..
altough i do own a galliera mono.. because mono is still easier to look after than azur IMHO
i love my bags but i don't baby them eheheh

Honestly I don't like the damier azur. I have no idea why but I just can't get into it. But the ebene does get a lot of my attention lately. Good prices, good styles, and it is totally under the radar and it doesn't scream "HI I AM AN LV BAG!! LOOK!".

Vachetta doesn't bother me much. Maybe because I rotate my bags very often, and never use anything with a lot of vachetta in the rain.

EDIT TO ADD: and I do avoid Mono... and prefer Epi or vernis instead. unless it is a seasonal or LE like the Dentelle (sp) or Panda.

I've always loved the Damier Ebene for it's understated, classy look. I don't mind vachetta, and there are some mono bags I really like, but the DE will always catch my eye first.

Up until a couple of months ago I thought Damier was way too masculine - probably because I had bought my dh a couple of pieces. What turned my eye was the Trevi. Once I went into the store and tried it on in person I changed my mind. It is just an added bonus that it so care free. I don't have the time or the lifestyle for babying vachetta. My hands are always covered in lotion and/or oils and it is sunny, hot and humid where I live. So, Damier is now a win - win for me!

This is such an interesting thread. I have to totally agree with it too. I am looking for damier ebene pieces because I don't want to worry about the vachetta since I live in NE and the weather changes with the hour. What is so silly about this, is that until this forum, I never worried about my vachetta and am totally happy with the way they turned out. I got caught in the rain with my NF pm on multiple occasions and even had coffee spill on it, and I think the color is great...very very silly...ehhhh haha

I recently got my first Speedy and it is Damier Ebene and I love it. It looks classy no matter what I'm wearing and the low maintenance is definitely a bonus. I can't stop looking at it, it is a stunning bag to me.

I don't have a damier ebene, but I like that pattern. When I bought my Azur they didn't have the size I wanted in ebene. I wish I waited. The azur is too seasonal for year round. I know many disagree, but I'd never carry an Azur in the fall or winter.

Eventually I'll get an ebene.... or two

I do like damier because it's different and unless you are already a fan of LV, you won't know what it is. I love the chocolate trim, the checks don't bother me at all. I like the overall look
