Do you like Damier because that's about the only option?

I absolutely love Damier, it's a classic style that's not on your face as much as monogram LV, and it goes with everything. but I don't feel it's the only option, LV has lots of different lines to chose from.

I was an *only* monogram girl for all my bags but I fell in love with the bloomsbury with that cute pleat and my husband says he thinks the damier pattern is more youthful looking...hmmn, I never really thought of it that way. I hardly ever see that pattern here in NC but I see tons of the monogram line that I hardly care about noticing them anymore.

i'm not crazy about the damier. most of my bags are mono and i have one vernis piece.

i recently got the eva in the ebene since i thought it looked best in the ebene. one of my next purchases might be a damier mainly because i like the shape of the trevi. i think for me, it's not so much about the vachetta vs no vachetta with the canvas bags as it is how a particular shape looks in a certain pattern.

i'm on the fence about the azur since i like how the bags look brand new, but i'm not sure how i would like the bags once the handles start to patina and darken. that being said, the stresa is something i'm considering and i'm trying to decide between mono or azur. decisions, decisions :thinkin:

I really don't care for the Damier pattern, the only reason I got the Neverfull MM in that is because of the red lining inside. I love the inside more then the outside, weird ... I know.

I am not a fan of anything checkered but I grew to love my Azur speedy. Love the red lining on Ebene though. Vachetta will always be a "problem" with it's darkening issue; I see it as a personality instead.

I always wondered why they didn't come out with a mono without vachetta. I have always loved mono but dislike vachetta far more then I love mono. So, I went with damier ebene for my speedy. I feel the bag stays looking fresh longer without worrying about the leather darkening. I would absolutely get a mono bag if they started making a line without oxidizing leather!!! Till then I'll stick with damier purses and mono wallets.

Op, I share your thoughts on liking the damier simply because it is the only option without vachetta. If they had the mono without vachetta I would be jumping on it! I do like the damier but there are times when I question if I like it simplu because it does not have vachetta. I have noticed that I will purchase accessory items such as the cles or wallets in mono since they don't have vachetta. But all of my bags are damier with the small exception of a pochette.

I like Damier but I actually prefer it on accessories than on bags. I don't mind about vachetta though, to me it's what makes Louis Vuitton bags unique and special.
