Disappointing Service at Singapore Prada and Miu Miu stores

^I agree. In fact I have really good service everytime I'm there, even when I'm without my mum or with my friends (ie. not dressed very nicely). I believe as long as you are polite to people, they will reciprocate.

mashi, I think you just went at the wrong time. They were preparing for the pre-sale on Monday (it was the first day) and it was not very organised cos they didn't know beforehand what was on sale so they had to keep refering to the documents when re-arranging the stuff and so many people kept coming in, enquiring about the sales. It was like that at least when I was there ;)

My husband and I flew to Singapore recently and we went to Prada at Paragon(Singapore). I was looking for a small pochette type bag. An SA was nearby and I asked her about their smaller bags and whether she had any suggestions for me. Not only she was clueless, she was also arrogant and curtly said, 'No'. Both my hubby and I were so put off. I couldn't be bothered and walked away, but my husband decided to tell her to be more polite and useful the next time she is attending to a customer. I am an LV fan, but have slowly fallen in love with Prada and Miu Miu. I must admit, this experience has somehow dampened my new found love. I still think regardless of how we dress or what bags we carry, SAs should always be polite to their customers. If they have problems with this, they are clearly in a wrong industry!
Sorry everyone...just needed to rant.

That's harsh. I agree that the service standards should be improved but I don't see retail staff as any different from us.

I can imagine it must be really tough dealing with haughty customers who behave like they're superior to others.

Well, mayBe i was unlucky to hv gone to the boutique the wrong time most of the time. but it seems miu miu staffs R mostly haughty. I do not see such services in other boutiques not even Prada so far. I forget to mention the SA that opened the dooR was one of the haughty staff that didn't give 2 hoots abt our enquiries previously. I agree they should be trained to service customers regardless of their dressing. Miu Miu should educate their staffs on being service orientated.

Not only Sin I experience the same thing, me n a friend ordered stuffs from Hawaii n we experience the same haugtiness ! my friend ordered a bag n they do not allow to cxl n insist she exchanged for something but we chk with the bank n bank adv they can just void it but the SA dun bother. My buddy ask for a bow but they flatly said out of stoCk before even checking. But when another pfers called to ask for the boW, the SA told her that it was available ! What seRvice is this ?

MuCh as I hate to be 'harsh' but it is obviouS they serve according to customer's appearance oR their mood swings. I know commission is important to them but more so is service. They cud hv earn the commission but sometimes due to their misjudge of the customers, they will piss the customers away who actually hv the intention to buy.

Well... I understand that if you have prsaled and it was before the day before the transacations go through, I do not understand why they cannot cancel.

But it is open Sale... I believe it is Final sale... no exchange/no refund regardless, which is pretty standard procedure.

Re: rudness on the phone... I find during sale times, they are very short with customers...so I needed to be pushy sometimes... but I do give them a day or two to answer my emails.... since SAs do not sit and answer emails all day, they do need to serve customers........ so when I called to follow up on their emails, the SAs do seem apologetic (at BH, HI & NYC....) Just IMO

I am sure there are many lurkers on the forums, and these SAs must be bombered with many calls/emails other than those who are posting... guess I have to be understanding too...

but regardless, they do not have to be rude.... at end of day, I am always trying to bulid a good relationship with my SAs... if they are rude or non-responsive, I move on to the next

I am so disgusted with Miu Miu Paragon that I condemned them and even if I need to purchase any MM, i will do it overseas. I'll never let those disgusting SAs earn my commisson!

why do they not understand that bad service simply reflects badly on them as human beings who cannot understand & appreciate the concept of service? it's laughable, but not as much as it is infuriating.

i once walked into jimmy choo at paragon with a friend and the store was empty. the only 2 SAs were standing right smack in the center of the store and one stared at my feet from when i was outside the shop all the way past her. that's a good freaking 20 metres. HOW RUDE, not to mention the lack of a greeting.

what happened, jazzy22?

This is going to be pretty long.. here it goes

I bought a coffer in the HK boutique but after i came back, i realised that one of the back of the buttons on the pocket came off and it's a brand new peice somemore. My receipt states that i can do an exchange within 10 days so i called Singapore branch and check. When i told them abt the exchange, the male SA retorted "WHAT?! YOU MEAN HK TOLD YOU THAT?!?!?!"

Not exaggerating, his voice suddenly became at least 2 pitch higher and shrieked into the phone. He told me that they WILL NOT exchange spore stock with HK stock, he can only help me send my bag back to HK for them to change or repair it for me. But the repair will take abt a mth.

I were v shocked by his attitude. He was just plain rude and did not offer any apology for the lousy quality bag, told me to bring the bag down n hang the phone down on me.

I called the HK SA who served us. The SA was v apologetic and said that they can do an exchange but spore don't have the bag so they can only exchange in HK but she will need to check the stock. If not, i can opt for repairs. But she will cont to source for alternatives.

She called me 4 times to follow up and update me. In the end, I opt for repairs cuz there's no more new pieces and she agreed to expedite the repairs for me to be done within a week.

I were quite pleased with her, I mean I don't ask for much, what she agreed to do is already enough for me and at least she showed a good attitude.

So, I brought my bag down to Miu Miu Paragon just now for them to send over to HK for repairs. The lady who served us said that HK has already contacted them abt my case and they will send over the bag on monday.

Now comes the irritating part. The lady SA informed/emphasizes that she knows that HK agreed to expedite the repairs for me but whatever HK promise me is btw me n HK, none of her business. N she will not be responsible if the repairs take more than a week.

I were shocked. Seriously, i don't care if it's HK or S'pore. Your bloody bag's button came off when it's brand new, it's your company's products! I hold your bloody company responsible for this lousy/inferior product which you're selling as a luxury product! if you can't give me a satisfactory product, the least you can do is to show me a good attitude!

I collected my bag yesterday. (They did repair it within a week) Another male SA served me this time and he was v polite n nice to me. Told me how to take care of my bag etc.. much better than his two colleagues!

jazzy22 - i understand how you feel... i feel the staff in Sin Miu2 is badly trained in service orientation. I have my fair share of encounters with them too. So i can imagine their facial expression when you described your encounters with then LOL !! Cool it no point getting agitated with these people... it never end...

I'm so sorry for you jazzy! I've never been to either shop (live in Europe) but it's a shame that staff in a boutique of this price range should be so badly trained!! Really hope you will make better experiences in the future and good luck with your bag from now on! Hope it didn't spoil your love for it :hugs:

i read this, having just gone to prada paragon and experienced their legendary snooty SAs.

frankly, three women huddled in a corner doing something (an imaginary task, which was to rearrange the bows on a bag, not even meant for display...) and gossiping when a frazzled customer is trying to get their attention doesn't constitute good customer service. NOT AT ALL!

i wasn't impeccably dressed, (just a dress, and casual nappa leather sandals) but that's no excuse for lousy customer service. worst of all, they were commenting about my bag, and how they thought it was fake but i know better because i purchased it from the ysl store on old bond street... i guess, if one needs to b**ch, keep the noise level down!

i really am a bit disappointed (which is probably an understatement), because i've just come back from the stores in milan and london and most of the SAs i met were amazing, even if i didn't buy anything. imagine my shock at being ill-treated in my own country!

suffice to say, i am not going to frequent prada in singapore anymore.

They said that to you?:push:

Some of our local Prada SAs think they're smart-alecks and know about all the different bag styles and able to distinguish between the real and fake when it's clearly they're unaware and making a fool out of themselves.

I always find their comments amusing when they comment about so-so bag when actually, the design is either new, not a popular design or had been discontinued.
