Disappointing Service at Singapore Prada and Miu Miu stores

The first and last time I went in the LV store in Pacific Place Mall, Jakarta, this male SA was so rude. That time, I was carrying a paper bag only (left my LV bag at home). When I asked to see a bag, he glanced at my paper bag and then at me with a snooty look. He had such an irritated look when he brought the bag down because he couldn't reach it and had to use a chair. While I was checking out the bag, he had such a bored look. I was so disgusted with his behavior! Some people actually have to take their time (and several visits) before buying a bag. It's not like we're buying a can of beans in a supermarket.

However, the SAs I've encountered in LV Plaza Senayan and Plaza Indonesia have been gracious and helpful every time I drop by. I reccommend those branches if you need an LV fix (both purchase or windowshopping).

but DFS no Miu Miu.. :_(

I agree. I love miu miu and I can bought all of mine (all 3 from paragon). Well, I usually ignore the bad service unless they really get on my nerves. Anyway, I encountered a S.A who was really friendly (when I first got my coffer), too bad I didn't manage to catch her name. The shop supervisor seems quite friendly too.

Anyway, I am not travelling to HK this here, so I can only get my miu miu from paragon.

hi i am new here.i feel so sorry to hear about all the stories here.i din know that the services in singapore is so poor,as i rarely shop there.well i am very proud that some high end boutiques in malaysia actually offering very good service.i visit prada klcc this january(that is my first time to visit such high end boutique in malaysia as i normally shop in taiwan),and there is a chinese lady sa who is so attentive and helpful,as well as another gal which i am not sure about her race:heart:.i bought my nylon sling bag there.burberry is great too,i tried several messanger bags there but end up of buying nth there.the male sa still opened the door for me when i left the shop.but i cannot stand the staff from gucci, there are all rude and silly.by the way lv and coach is very good as well,as their stuff will not judge the customers based on their wearing haha.club 21 is the only boutique which i regularly shop in malaysia, but i cannot stand the staff from A/X,so rude as well.my only shopping experience in singapore is with my mum at the lv taka.my mum was looking for a bag which she could bring to the x'mas dinner.we were wearing jeans and tee on that day but the sa there served us well, possibly becos my mum was carrying a birkin and wearing a rolex on her wrist haha.i guess we will only shop in taiwan after reading so many bad experiences here.must inform my mum about that haha.

I havent stepped into much of those shops yet. @ LV Take, the Sa is pretty nice to me and very friendly. The other shop I have been to is Bvlgari and I must say that the SA there is not snobbish at all. Same goes to COACH. Bvlgari SA are all very friendly and nice! And I wear much sloppy than the rest of the girls around Taka.

I've been to GUCCI Taka during sales time and the Malay Guys SA are more helpful and nice. No black face if i pass the items back to them.

One problem with us Asians is that they prefer to shop alone? Normally not disturbed by SA until we need to ask SA qns etc?

I am wondering if the services (other brands) at Raffles Arcade boutiques will be better.

I hate shopping at Prada and Miu Miu in Singapore - especially Prada. The SAs there have been snobby and rude since the 1990s (but you have to give them points for consistency :p).

My favourite high end boutiques here are Chanel and On Pedder (which sells all kinds of bags, shoes and accessories - from Miu Miu and Comme des Garçons to Christian Louboutin and YSL). The SAs don't follow you around and offer help every two minutes (which is just the way I like it, and I know most Singaporeans are the same - we don't like to be bothered unless we personally initiate contact with the SA) but when you DO need help, they are on hand, genuinely friendly and very lovely indeed. I always feel very at home and pampered at these two boutiques. Even when one is dressed like crap, like in sweatpants and a t-shirt after going to the gym, they treat you with the same respect and hospitality. When I went into Prada dressed the same way once, I was given dirty looks by the snobby SAs. If it wasn't for the fact that I love Prada and Miu Miu so much, I would probably never shop at these boutiques at all.

I find that Hermès can be quite pleasant to shop at as well, most of the time. But it varies from SA to SA. All of them are very nice, but with some, you get the feeling that their loveliness is genuine whereas others can come across as a little fake if they are not familiar with you, and you aren't dripping in diamonds.

Oh, and I just wanted to add that I'm surprised the OP received bad service at Fendi. I have always found their service to be quite good. In fact, my only problem with them is that the SAs are TOO friendly and don't really leave you alone. At least, that is my experience with the boutique. I'll tell the SAs I'm just looking around and don't need help just yet but a few minutes later, they'll be back, chattering away and recommending this shoe and that bag, even when I just want to browse in peace. :D

When I need help, though, I have found the SAs to be extremely obliging and they never seem to mind even when I've asked them to fetch another shoe size for the billionth time.

Well think I am consider the lucky one ..... yesterday was my first time walking into Prada at Paragon, this nice gentleman who served me was friendly and cheerful and willing to answer my questions (??? cos I dun know anything about Prada!)
Next I proceed to Miu Miu...the min I stepped in, two SAs came up to greet me and asked if I need any help.. I looked around, and found that they have some nice bag charms...and they apparently took out all their charms with different colors and let me try on my bags:nuts:, and finally I managed to get one nice heart shape charm and when I leave, the lady SA walked me to the door and open the doors for me:D.
After that I went to Chanel At Ngee Ann City, and again I was served by this sweet lady SA called Esther Wong, not pushy, took out all the bags for me to try and ask me to take my time to consider. And although I left the boutique empty handed, this lady SA smiles and walk me to the door .
And finally, my last stop which considering quite dissappointing was LV at Ngee Ann City, as usual the store was packed with people...me n my friend stand in the boutique for almost 20mins and none of the SAs bother to ask whether we need help or not!!!

So my overall shopping experience with all these branded boutiques was great. And I normal buy my LVs from Raffles Hotel and they too gives a thumb up service:roflmfao:.

prada at DFS at singapore's scotts road have poor SAs service too. There was once i was browsing inside the store, and the display table for small accessories were covered with the dust bags. Hence, i am unable to see what is below the glass drawer! I try to swing my body left right trying hard to sneak below and there are 2 staffs standing infront of the display drawer, guess what? There were chatting and ignoring my presence. They didnt even bother to shift away the dust bags away or smile to me for assistance. WTF! After some body language showing that i am not interested, i took my leave and i boycott DFS Singapore Prada outlet. I hope the management from DFS read this and do something about their staffs training dispite the govt from spore kept educating the retail industry about service orient before the casinos gonna open...

i guess it depends on what you wear, etc.

i hate the SAs from Miu Miu in Singapore, so proud. when i dress down, they don't even bother to serve me. it's really amusing to see them flocking to people who dress up, carrying good bags, watches, etc...

i hate such double standard services.... worse of all, there's only 1 Miu Miu boutique in Singapore...

that's true, i have encountered some nice SAs too, there's this chinese guy in Miu Miu boutique, he's not bad.

some of the SAs in Prada Paragon are nice too.

I like Chanel SAs, though they are busy but they tried to help everyone.

Hermes SAs are good too

I went to the boutique at paragon 2 weeks back to take a look at the new bags. Surprisingly, the SAs were quite nice and helpful. Too bad my wallet didn't allow me to buy anything that day.

hey gals I'm totally ashamed of Singapore's poor service sector. They R freaking arrogant i AGREE  they seems to forget their 'SA' status. So many a times when i decides to check the Stores esp Miu Miu, i always find thrill in refreshing their status memory by dressing up, wearing my most expensive watch, make up, chignon my hair in another words dress like a tai tai... so obviously they sense my presence when i enter...flocking to me with their yellowish teeth smiles... I'll deliberately become difficult getting them to show me every colour from most designs...I'll tempt them by whispering to my hubby 'I think i'll take these 4 how ... what do u think?'...my hubby played along...'hmm not nice, next, hmm not nice get the more expensive one la not much diff anyway'...you'll see the SA's smiles gets wider... n finally when they hv sweat enuf... I'll quote a colour for that particular design knowing they wont hv it.... n leave graciously... kekeke ! Wow U shud see the look in their eyes... nearly popped out kakaka :wtf:evil me i know but i just hate their arrogance !!

^evil but hilarious!! So funny! "status memory" :roflmfao:
I had a bad experience from a phone call with the store in Soho today, so I'm glad to have been directed to this thread. I guess bad service just happens sometimes!

roomommy, I think I called one of the New York stores once (don't remember which one) and the person that I spoke to was evil! she was like "no we don't have what you're looking for and we can't send you any pics" needless to say I am not buying from them!

^Makes one really appreciate the BH store! I e-mailed Renato once to ask about a green Nappa charm, which they didn't have, but Renato put me on his list and now I get their e-mails with pics. So nice, and prudent of them, too. In this economy, you'd think rude SA's would wise up and do everything possible to improve sales.
