Disappointing Service at Singapore Prada and Miu Miu stores

I have had bad experiences at Prada and Miu Miu in Singapore too. In January this year, I went to Miu Miu at Paragon and asked if they have the bow satchel in Allumino. The male SA told me that there's no such color and that it must be a color from a past season. I tried explaining that it's from a current season but he insisted that he's not possible.

Disappointed, I left the store and went into Prada downstairs to see if there are any nice new bags. When I took one to take a closer look, the SA immediately said to me "That's $2XXX" in a condescending tone. I found that incredibly rude and decided on the spot that I needed to buy a bag (not from Prada of course) on that day to make up for the lousy experiences. Haha..ya women subscribe to the weirdest theories....

I crossed the street and popped over to On Pedder at Ngee Ann City. Lo and behold, my Miu Miu alluminio bow satchel was on display in the shop, calling out my name. I told the SA about my awful experience at Miu Miu Paragon. And he was sweet and was very empathetic. Needless to say, I bought the bag on the spot (esp after being told that this is the first of the three alluminio that were brought in by OP on that day).

I think it's pathetic that the SAs at luxury boutiques are not professional and behave in a snotty manner. Some of them judge customers based on what they wear and I find that extremely silly.

P.S. I was in work attire with a Epi LV speedy when I went shopping that day. But I still got poor service.

i sometimes wonder if on some level it is how we interpret things. i know for sure that the miu miu SAs could have been better trained. but so could some of those ones in europe. they are known to be very snooty.

announcing the price as we look at a bag and not hovering around us as we browse may mean many things to different people.

as for the common snootiness of luxury item SAs, i am also starting to wonder if somehow they are encouraged by the company...? i dunno....

hi TPFers!!!
i have the same experience in JULY 08- the SAs in Paragon for Miu Miu and Prada are hopeless!!! I wanted to a coffer but instead of helping me, they practically ignored me!

I was so darn pissed mad that I decided not to get it in Singapore and got it from HK instead. The service I received there is a million times better than in Singapore.

Should we complain to the management about the bad attitude??

Unfortunately, I heard of that too. However, I have never experienced that so far. Don't be put off by the bad service. Fyi, next time you come to Singapore, do visit DFS. They always serve with a smile; even to a local. Btw, I'm a Singaporean.

the price tag is usually in the inner zipper.. u have to really unzip the inner zipper.. looking 'auntie' to dig out the price tag.. hence it's better you just appear interested and checked out the price with the SA, even if they ain't really acting very nice with you..

Prada Singapore is better than Miu Miu Singapore.. i only like one SA from Miu Miu S'pore and if i walked into the shop and know she's not working.. i'll just walk straight out.. dont even bother lingering on.. dont ever let me find out who is the male SA who hanged up my phone call!!! :cursing: lol

Maybe i'm in the minority here. I actually prefer the SAs NOT to bother me so that i'm free to browse through the entire boutique. Only when i see something i like than i'll ask for the SA to help.

And so far, i dun remember any bad experiences in any of the high end boutiques.
Even at the Taka LV, when its always crowded at the bags counters, i'll just go over and sit at the RTW section and someone will definitely come over to attend, and i'll just tell them which bag i want to see/try. But the q outside is a total turnoff. So i usually just go to LV DFS first.

And i love this malay lady SA at Dior DFS, when i was there during the sale, she actually told me to wait for the next season sale because the current sale stuffs are not really that nice.

At Balenciaga Hilton, there's a particular lady SA who tells me when the new colors come in so that i can just go in and try the bags even though she knows i get mine mostly online.
In fact, she is too nice that i'm 'paiseh' to just drop in too often.

I actually received excellent service from a boutique called Giordano. In the end, I didn't buy anything but the service staff were so helpful.

giordano has such excellent service that I actually feel bad that I don't really buy much from that brand..other than Tod's and all the DFS store, the rest of the high-end boutiques in Singapore are hopeless. It is strange how, giordano, a brand that sells rather cheap clothes emphasizes so much on customer service. And these up-market brands, where we spend four digit amounts, have SAs behaving like we owe them a living. They have so much atttitude that I wonder why we put up with it? I respect every occupation but what is up with these SAs? They are just selling the bags, its not like they own the brand.

btw i'm singaporean..and not very proud of this fact. Shopping in US and Europe is much more pleasant...

I agree with your review on LV Takashimaya SAs, they just dont care, with all those customers lining up on their entrance !

I've purchased twice at YSL Paragon, very helpful SAs

Hi

I went to Prada @ DFS Singapore , the service is not bad .

And I went to Miu Miu @ Paragon , the service still a bit suck .
But after I spoke to female SA , she serves me well so I bought Nero Bag from her ..

for me.. its very simple, i ignore them! i just do things on my own.. but so far i haven't experience it! as long as they can serve me if i ask something from them im ok with it! coz i know that I'am a customer and i have the right to object them! let them work for what every customers' deserve!

hence, the service at DFS was really good!!
