They said that to you?:push:

Some of our local Prada SAs think they're smart-alecks and know about all the different bag styles and able to distinguish between the real and fake when it's clearly they're unaware and making a fool out of themselves.

I always find their comments amusing when they comment about so-so bag when actually, the design is either new, not a popular design or had been discontinued.

well, i guess they were trying to gossip "discreetly". haha!

i read this, having just gone to prada paragon and experienced their legendary snooty SAs.

frankly, three women huddled in a corner doing something (an imaginary task, which was to rearrange the bows on a bag, not even meant for display...) and gossiping when a frazzled customer is trying to get their attention doesn't constitute good customer service. NOT AT ALL!

i wasn't impeccably dressed, (just a dress, and casual nappa leather sandals) but that's no excuse for lousy customer service. worst of all, they were commenting about my bag, and how they thought it was fake but i know better because i purchased it from the ysl store on old bond street... i guess, if one needs to b**ch, keep the noise level down!

i really am a bit disappointed (which is probably an understatement), because i've just come back from the stores in milan and london and most of the SAs i met were amazing, even if i didn't buy anything. imagine my shock at being ill-treated in my own country!

suffice to say, i am not going to frequent prada in singapore anymore.

i go will over and tell them 'tis bag is frm london, by the way hv u shop there before ?? their service are really good unlike yours!'

juz like everything i go in miu miu, they always give me one kind of look. even my friend said what is wrong with them? im wearing t-shirt and jeans but my stuff are cult brands and just because they dun know it, they thot its some cheap stuff. so now i hv second thoughts abt bringing my bow bag down for repair :(

I went to Miu Miu during the second day of their VIP sales last month. The place was packed. I was casually dressed and carrying an old Loewe bag. The SA did attend to me when I asked to see some of the bags that were blocked by some other female customers. They were not overly friendly, but neither were they rude or cold.

Maybe I was lucky.

namie - you were lucky cos most of the time i do not get very good service from them.

littlemissmafia - oh dear its such a shame they gossip loud enough for you to hear !!! This is shallow !!

That's the problem with miu2 n prada in Singapore they always judge the customers so i always makes sure I'm impeccably dressed when i visit them cos i had an arrogant experience in Miu2 .. when i once went in with my yoga sweaty attire after my session nearby... Oh you can imagine the look in their face...

Funny how they forget that they are SAs and we are buyers or even if we are just a walked in customer !

I just bought a bow bag from Miu miu Paragon, and I received good service!

The previous day (before I decide to bring it home the next day), I was served by a Malay guy. But I don't feel comfortable with him cos I could sense his unwillingness to serve me. I was wearing shorts, a simple Bebe top, slippers, & a Gucci bag for school. My friend was also carring a Gucci bag, but wearing a dress & slippers too. The poor service could due because we were noticeably young too. He did gave me the model number & colour name of the bag written on a namecard though...

The next day, I walked in & browse, headed to Loewe at Taka & walked back to Miu miu again. Was served by a girl initially, & when asked to check, she said there's no deep red colour in their store (Ridiculous! I just saw it 20 mins ago. Unless it was bought by another person. But I think its because she's lazy & assume I wouldn't get it) Was served by a guy named Ashley next. I think he's really patient! I asked him to take out all the available colours for the bow bag, & even asked for other designs. I took a very very long time & yet he still remain friendly

After I decided which colour to get, I tried to "test" him by acting like I don't want any. But his expression doesn't change (e.g look displease etc.) Of course I ended up buying as its my intention.

I love great service! Makes me very very happy & will be ultra polite to them too :amuse:

regarding the OP's story, i believe that most high-end boutiques in asia give really bad service.
I a originally from HK, and once i went into a Gucci boutique, wearing a Gucci bag from which my parents got me from Italy, one of the SAs had the nerve to question where i got my bag from, and whether it was real or not. and then she added " cuz i haven't seen that style anywhere before"

HELLO?! you're only a sales assistent, not the king of the world.

I know, they are only sales assistants or sales people who probably could not themselves afford the kind of bags that they sell, not that i can myself I have to go to the bay lol. They know nothing about the customer coming into the shop, the op in sweats could be an affluent person for all they know. Alot of celebs dress in a scruffy way, such as David Beckham, Kate MOss, Gweneth Paltrow.

^Actually, our sales assistants here in Singapore can afford to buy designer bags.:smile1: I saw a SA before from LV carrying a Chanel classic flap during her off-days.

oh well. However they are serving the customer and have to be customers focused and professsional which they dont seem like they are. They are supposed to be providing a service and encouraging people to buy, and attitudes like this do not do the brand any favours.

Hey guys!

Was reading some of your 'horror' stories and could totally relate!

Apologies in advance for the super duper long post though!

Gosh, come to think about it, I can't believe how my taste for designer bags has evolved and also the thickness of my skin! :graucho:

Started off with 'low key brands' like Coach, Kate Spade and Marc Jacobs.

So far I've experienced pretty lousy service from Coach at Takashimaya, but the Raffles City staff was slightly more helpful.

Kate Spade at Takashimaya was just so so. This chinese lady, whom I assumed was the manager as she was dressed in white as opposed to the other staff wearing black, has this very snooty look on her face when I was browsing their wallets collection.

The SA's at Marc Jacobs boutique at DFS Scotts were amazing. They are just so patient and helpful and always smiling!

I then progressed to LV. Gosh how I hated going to LV Takashimaya. I totally agree with you guys, the service is horrendous.

I remember about a month back, I accompanied my girlfriend who wanted to check the repair cost for her pochette. We were in office wear, and I was carrying my YSL downtown.

This male SA, walked past me, gave me a snide look, looked at my downtown, rolled his eyes and signalled to this other SA who was standing behind the counter. They then both stared at me and started snifling to themselves.

Goodness, he was so rude! I turned to stare at both of them, and asked loudly, 'What's so funny guys? Share the joke will ya?"

The *****y one who rolled his eyes at me, quickly joined his other *****y companion and pretended to be busy over the counter.

I've never walked into LV at Takashimaya since then. I have to say the service at LV DFS Scotts is much much better, BUT, depending on which SA.

If you're there, look for Aveline. Unfortunately, she's a part timer, so she only work on weekends. She's friendly and very patient with my endless queries!

I truly wonder why is it the SA's at DFS boutiques are much more friendlier??

I have no comments about Miu Miu. Have never been a fan of them, although I have been converted to a full scale Prada fan.

I've never had any bad experiences at Prada, Paragon or DFS otherwise. In fact, the service I've had at Prada Paragon was totally impeccable.

I brought my wallet to them, which had a inner zipper problem, initially the manager had informed me that he'll send it for repair, but after telling him that I'll be outstation for 6 months, he actually offered to replace a brand new wallet for me! Truly amazing!

Next stop, YSL. One word. WOW. Amazing service. I bought my first YSL downtown from them and had the good fortune to be served by a very friendly and knowledgable SA by the name of Farah.

She was so patient, took out bags after bags. I was trying not only the downtown, but also the muse, and the Easy bag and not once did she complain. I think I made a mess that night!

I went back to her to get my muse. She totally deserved the commission. :smile1:

Last but not least, Chanel. Some of the SA's are downright snooty, only a few are friendly and made the effort to get the bags or shoes you asked for.

I was there with a friend to look at the Classic Caviar Jumbo and my friend wanted to look at their earrings.

We were served by a very snooty and disinterested SA by the name of Sharon. I was so put off by her service, I told my friend, loudly, for her benefit that I'll find another SA to serve me.

She gave me this 'so what like I care' face. Ugh! So angry!

Anyways, we were luckier when we came the next time, was served by this malay lady by the name of Adlina. She's nice and quite patient. I do notice the SA's there tend to put in effort only if you have expressed interest to buy, but I guess it's pretty much the same in other brand name boutiques eh?

Alright I've come to the conclusion of my very long 'long winded' rant. :p

Thanks for listening dearies! :graucho:

Hey guys!

I'm back! :D

Totally forgot to mention about my visit to Gucci at Takashimaya. I was served by these two wonderful staff by the name of Rezal and Farah.

They were so so friendly, informative and helpful. Many a times they helped me to keep new pieces during sales period even when they're not supposed to. :smile1:

Sorry and nasty to say... they can't afford full price for these designers items :nogood:.. they probably got it at staff price :graucho: which is up to 40% of the retail !! Thats also probably their motivation to work in the boutique beside their meagre commission.

My hats off to good and patient SAs cos these are the people who really have passion in their job and cut out for this fashion industry !

Really loathe some of their rude attitude... sometimes I wonder if they know where they stand !! But I guess not haiz...
