Comparing leather by Year and Season (best, worst, characteristics)

I've been wondering the same thing. I really hope that all of the fading/greening issues that happened last year have been fixed!

ITA.. thats holding me back from purchasing a Black Twiggy right now.. hopefully 08 will have some unbelievably awesome leather. (Fingers CroSsed!)

the leather in the pic looks pretty much like my 07 ss black city

i think the front of my bag got a little greenish too (just the front tho)

Seems like so far they vary. I haven't seen any in person yet, but from pics here there's a big difference amongst bags.

Totally different leather quality/distressing - so it's lookin' (so far) like they vary quite a bit.

The upper bag's leather (the GH) looks very similar to my black 05:

Hmm when I asked Kim from Bal NY if I should go for a 08 black SGH city, she told me that she prefers the f/w 07 ones, because the s/s 08 ones were "not as nice and had a silvery grey cast and the leather is not as thick".

The ones on this thread looks awesome though!

ETA: I was asking Kim abt SGH though, not RH!

I've recently gotten myself a BG first and I absolutely it!The leather is so softttttttt!I read in Deana's post that she likes 08 leather just as much as the 05 leather....Having own the oh-so-soft 08 leather,I wanna get another one!I'm looking around for a blue first bag and found a bunch from the 07 collection..so I guess what I'm asking is how is the leather quality of the 07 compared to that of the 08?or 05 for that matter....

I don't own any 08 bags (yet..) but I do have a few from 05 and several from 07 and I have to say I LOVE the leather on my 07 bags. I think they're pretty comparable! If you find one you like, go for it!
