Opinions, please! I'm rehabbing a mohagany Willis bag, missing it's strap. It's for selling, so I'm thinking of attaching an off-brand strap I happened to have just to have something to offer with it. Do you think this works? Or sell it without a strap? Or try to find something more in line with the brown color?

Personally I would sell with a different strap. I like this strap and think it goes with the bag nicely but snakeskin can be niche. How about a plain gold chain which slightly dresses up the bag a bit?

My local thrift has a rack of straps sold separated from their bags...lots of choice, but not all genuine leather. I've been collecting an assortment. I'll try some others (if I can find them) and share the look.

The colors of the strap look good with the bag. It's a little heavy looking though, if you know what I mean, like kind of too much.

You could maybe picture it with a couple of different strap options and give your buyer the choice?

When I saw the pictures, I instantly thought white. I think bone has a yellow creaminess to it.

The person above has listed it as white bone gold lol. I vote white. But I’m sure someone here might have the tags and be able to tell you more than me.

I think it depends on the state of the bag in the first place really. Here's one I did awhile ago (first picture) that looks brand new because the bag was in excellent condition to start, just dry corners and misshapen. The other pictures are 2 other tan bags I did that look nice, but not new. Both were pretty heavily used. So don't feel like you've failed if you don't get a perfect result on a light colored bag. ;) And you did an amazing job! I don't even try to take on ripped corners anymore.

Btw, I can't "unsee" the frownie face on the watermelon tote now. Hahaha
Thank you so much! I appreciate the reassurance. All 3 of your bags are beautiful! Personally, much like people, I love to see the aging of these older bags. It shows that they’ve lived a life maybe and adventurous one. Sure there’s been ups and downs but with a little TLC the natural beauty shines. I hope someday to stumble upon a weathered, frownie faced watermelon bag of my own to re-hab. Thank you again.

I agree with others who said the stap colors work well with the bag. I also agree that the snake skin may only appeal to a smaller group of buyers. Giving the buyer some options is a good idea. It’s a beautiful bag!

Well, I didn't like any of my existing "make do" straps. So, now I'm considering this! I took one from a different vintage Coach bag I have. It's the right color, and an authentic Coach product. It was on a compartment bag. If I make the swap, this compartment bag will now get the makeshift instead. The strap is about 1/2 inch wide and 38 inches long, including the brass clips.

Sometimes I like straps and sometimes I don’t care for them. I use my “BT Beauty” without the strap. I think this will be fine. Same brand, same color! Plus Coach made their straps interchangeable. It is all about your preference. You will be the one carrying that beauty around. You Do you girl!

A while back I posted photos of my newly found NYC Slim Satchel Compact.. here's the results of LOTS of leather CPR and a dunk. I still need to add a zipper pull, twilys on the handles, and either (both?) a coat of renapur or blackrocks, but i think she's dramatically improved.. thanks for all the suggestions here!

I'd love opinions on covering the remaining stains on the one side-should i find some fun patches? do most folks sew them on? also any sources for a replacement pull would be greatly appreciated..

Hi All - I'm sure this has already been asked (but I can't find a thread). I rehabbed a dark green sidepack (9978) - it had super worn corners so I used Saphir cream 1925 in DK Green. It looks great but I still have green coming off. What's the best option to stop the color loss and seal the bag so I can carry it? Thanks in advance for the advice!

How long did you let the Saphir absorb into the bag? I watched a video on YouTube where she lets the Saphir sit over night before she buffs it out.

I think 1/2 inch is pretty skinny for this bag. This is the width of a station bag strap. The Willis came with a slightly wider strap. But some buyers might be happy with it since it matches. You could always give the buyer a choice, like others have suggested.
