Hi All - I'm sure this has already been asked (but I can't find a thread). I rehabbed a dark green sidepack (9978) - it had super worn corners so I used Saphir cream 1925 in DK Green. It looks great but I still have green coming off. What's the best option to stop the color loss and seal the bag so I can carry it? Thanks in advance for the advice!

I don’t have experience with Saphir so I’m not sure if this would work. I would use CPR and coat it a few more times until it doesn’t bleed anymore.

So, what kind of acrylic paint do y'all use? Specifically for leather or just regular acrylic art paint? I'm contemplating buying a white bag and want to mix acrylic paint into the CPR, like some of y'all have done.

Also, I hear much talk of this recoloring balm. What do y'all use?

So my Ascheputtel, instead of turning into a princess, is turning into the coat of many colors :). Firstly, the dunking water turned a dark aqua-navy and the towels she stood turned navy as well. As she is drying, I notice several colors on her. The sides are definitely navy and the leather bits for holding the strap are black, as is the covering of the piping. the front of the purse (pocket) is an off-black with black sprinkles (where the flap did not cover) and the body of the purse is a dark brown-black. Also, a white spot on the bottom showed up after her bath. I would like to even the color, before going to the Black Rock coats and also would like to refinish the strap edges. I do not know if recoloring is on order, but Saphir was mentioned here several times for evening the color. But there are so many Saphir products, I don't know which to get, or if there is something better for this case than Saphir. Input and ideas much appreciated...lol should I dunk her again ?? Did I not dunk enough ?? She has had 8 coats of CPR and probably can take a couple more. She is at this point mainly dry.Collegiate Back & Flap.jpgCollegiate Full Front.jpgCollegiate Straps.jpgCollegiate Side.jpg

I’ve used Saphir Juvacuir. I used it in black to refresh a Plaza that had universal fading.

did Coach make one-off 2 tone bags? 'cause that certainly looks like it was made with 2 different color leathers. or maybe someone tried to overdye it, and wasn't super successful with that one section? You could just try to embrace the 2 tone look - I kind of like it!

I recently used this aniline dye along some very faded black strap edges-I dyed them before dunking so the excess dye could wash off. I avoided the strap surface so as not to have super dark vs. undyed on the strap face. after dunk + CPR the strap looks brand new! I touched up the faded corners & handle edges and they look great too. Might be worth a go on the blue areas of your bag? I used q-tips for precision vs. the giant wool dauber the dye came with. Next time I might cut a dauber down or use a sacrificial paintbrush.

Thanks so much to both of you for your answers and I have both of these items along with Meltonian in my Amazon buggy.
If it were just a matter of having the blue sides, I could live with that, but the splotches on the front pocket where it was not covered by the flap are quite noticeable irl, even though they do not show up good in the photograph. It was the blue (dark blue/dark aqua that was bleeding during the bath, and after the water running completely clear, the bag still bled blue on the towel she was sitting on.
After spending a goodly time on reading a lot of the dye related msg on this thread, I think I will proceed as follows; firstly Acrylic in CPR (I paint and therefore have it on hand). Then when that does not work, I will go with either Angelus, Saphir or Meltonian. I do not relish the thought of starting from scratch (dunk) with this purse, but in retrospect, maybe I did not "scrub" that pocket enough perhaps I should have let her sit in the rinse water longer to get rid of all the loose blue paint, though nothing was coming off on a white towel once she was dry.
She is more than 30 yrs old, so I would not expect her to look perfect, but I will show her off once I feel she looks presentable.

This is my 2nd challenging (more than a dunk and condition) that I e taken on. I bought it on Poshmark and the seller did not disclose a hole in the bottom corner. Come to think of it, this was a purchase made before I found TPF so I probably didn’t have it authenticated. After all the work I hope it’s not a fake. Anyway, I ended up doing a couple dunks to try to get rid of some discoloration / spots and to get it properly shaped. I conditioned the heck out of it, used a bit of recoloring balm and used leather repair on the corner. Considering I’m a newbie rehabber I think it turned out pretty good. First 2 before photos are from Poshmark, next 3 are after 1st dunk and the next 5 are finished with the last one of the repair.

Awesome rehab!
Do you have a link to the leather repair product you used on the corner and more details on how you did it?
Thanks!

Thank you so much! Here is the leather repair kit I used. I basically followed the instructions and mixed the colors until I got a good match then I used a small paintbrush to apply. I did a few layers letting it dry in between until I got to a point where I was happy with it. Then I used Leather recoloring balm by Furniture Clinic to even out the color. You can still see variations in the color but I’m Ok with that since it’s kind of the nature of these bags and I haven‘t quite figured out how others get their tan bags to look like their brand spanking new.

Hi Ladies,
I posted this one a different Coach Forum and they suggested that I post this on the Coach Rehab Forum.
I purchased this Coach Court and it needs a bit of TLC. I am having a hard time figuring out what color is bag actually is. I looked through and some posts and I see where the Coach Court was made in Bone and Putty. I have Color cream in Bone, Neutral and cream. I am not sure if either of these colors will work for this bag. They all seem a bit to light. I was wondering if anyone knows what this color actually is. Picture are after she had a wash. What color is close to putty? TIA

I think it depends on the state of the bag in the first place really. Here's one I did awhile ago (first picture) that looks brand new because the bag was in excellent condition to start, just dry corners and misshapen. The other pictures are 2 other tan bags I did that look nice, but not new. Both were pretty heavily used. So don't feel like you've failed if you don't get a perfect result on a light colored bag. ;) And you did an amazing job! I don't even try to take on ripped corners anymore.

When I saw the pictures, I instantly thought white. I think bone has a yellow creaminess to it.

The person above has listed it as white bone gold lol. I vote white. But I’m sure someone here might have the tags and be able to tell you more than me.

Actually, I just spent a gob stopping amount of time looking through the Coach Catalog that Hyacinth posted in the forum, as suggested By Lake Effect. Looked at the creed date B9P-9870. And it was actually made in Bone. So, I started with the Bone shoe cream. Even though she had a good bath. I will probably have to do several attempts at getting her back to the original color. by her open box presentation, poor girl was not conditioned or well cared for.

Oh well done, such a good find. You’re going to make her look so beautiful. Please could you send me the link to the catalogue? I’ve been looking but haven’t found them yet lol. Thank you
