There hasn’t been any activity there in a long time.
That group moved to a buy/sell/trade set of Facebook groups - Coach Confirmed for Authentication, Vintage Coach Marketplace for sales and some others. There is a lot of activity there and you can buy and sell without ebay or Etsy fees which have gotten very high, but typical FB drama ALL THE TIME.

I didn't realize Hyacinth was gone because I haven't authenticated anything in a while, which is where I see her. But I was thinking about her just yesterday because there are a TON of Japanese fakes on ebay right now. Really obvious fakes like Korean and wrong serial fakes, esp 9988's - I wondered where Hyacinth was. Ebay has an authentic guarantee but if somebody buys those they would need to pay the tariff and I doubt that is refundable in the event of a fake. Not sure how that works.

Ebay isn't removing fakes on our say-so anymore. Pretty much almost anything I report, even the super obvious, their AI thinks is okay. It isn't until a lot of other people also report that things finally get removed. I think a lot of fakes are being sold and kept these days. People aren't as vigilant as they need to be.

OMG I am REALLY glad you mention this. Because I have bought Coach bags in the past on ebay and Everything but the house EBTH, thinking I was protected with their authentic guarantee. I bought an ergo 9026 on ebay that was fake and returned it - $325.

If ebay is now using AI to "authenticate" it means you won't be able to return fake items easily anymore, their AI will say these are ok, you are stuck. These fake 9988s are usually $400+. Here is one.
I mean you've got to be kidding, this is a $400+ bag with whatever tariff fee, Hyacinth would have taken care of this.

So I am enjoying that I found a Janice last month at a thrift store and Friday night a Whitney! $20 each! With the current climate I thought that ship might have sailed for finding anything at that price!
The Whitney I believe is mahogany (edited, yes, the SoHo’s came in mahogany that year) ; I’ll do a catalog search later of the colors offered. It had a weird smell. Maybe it was cigarettes. I have smelled it on other bags. Not mold. Lord knows I know that one. So aside from wear at the bottom, and needing some TLC, it’s really not in bad shape. I took advantage of a gorgeous day and turned it inside out to get some air and sun this afternoon. I vacuumed it as well. I will wipe down the inside with my go-to Lexol leather cleaner solution.
