Anyone have any experience with removing a red stain that may be lipstick? It's on the inside of an unlined off white bag and is not currently visible on the outside of the bag. Will it bleed through to the outside when the bag is dunked? Thanks!

No experience with this but I would probably first try "spot-cleaning" and scrubbing the area with Dawn and water before dunking the bag in a solution of Dawn and water. I always remember that they use Dawn to clean baby otters and penguins after oil spills, so that's why I reach for Dawn!

If that doesn't work you might also try spot cleaning it with dilute bleach to remove the lipstick before giving it a bath. Again I haven't done this but it's something I might try on the inside of an unlined white bag.

what a gorgeous transformation! Can I ask - how do you know when a bag has been moisturized enough? I have read that oversaturating with moisturizer also has its issues but perhaps that’s more of a long term thing rather than as part of a rehab. Is there any sign or feel of the leather that signals it is adequately moisturized?

I guess for me I stop when the color has evened out and the feel of the leather is supple and soft. If it feels dry I just keep going. Sometimes it takes quite a few layers. I’ve been letting my layers sit on the surface and the leather absorb without rubbing in too much.

I would have dunked this bag in a heartbeat! Why did you decide against it?

scared I guess. I felt there were too many worn and torn areas. The leather was very dry. It just seemed to fragile to do. Honestly the bag itself was pretty clean. The inside was fine. Just seemed like overkill.

Ooo I hope you do like it! Let me know how you find it as I'm letting go of my duffle sac and was considering a Helen's but I probably wouldn't like the wide base either. I'm short and don't need any extra width!!! Haha
Hi, I have a mustard / yellow Maggie and I really like the size as a 5'3 girl. Here are the photos I took when I got it, it is a great size for smaller people, as it is not too tall and too wide, like u are kids carrying adults' bags haha and it is not too heavy either! But it don't have a oversized boyfriend kind of slouchy vibe a big duffle have, it looks very cute though.

I think it looks very cute. I have a newer bag with the same size and shape, and I like the way it looks carried crossbody.

I remember the TV commercials where Dawn is used for cleaning sea life after oil spills, so it's a staple item for me too. (Dawn is good for spills of salad dressing, olive oil or such on clothes - usually it works better than a spray laundry stain remover.) If necessary, the bleach could be a good follow up. Thanks for the input!

Hello awesome rehabbers! I’m wondering if anyone has rehabbed a Dakota. Can I bathe her as per usual with vintage Coach? Here is the bag I am specifically concerned about.
Thank you!
