I know Mrs. GAM has refreshed an entire bag. I used SJ for spot application to the piping and over scratches. I used it after dunking and the deep condition (CPR / LT) and before the final, either BR or Renapur. I did not notice a change in how it felt with the spot application. Let me go fondle it again to be sure

The link below is to my rehab. I don't know why it defaults to the description of another post.

I am such an idiot. LOL I did an entire refresh of my black Plaza with SJ. In this case, I had done it waaaay after I had finished the entire rehab the bag, which included Obenauf's Oil. So that is an option too. Let me go back and see if I put more BR on after I was done the refresh. Eta, I found and old post and I did put a very light app of BR on after.
And I forgot, I did the refresh with my black Pocket Purse too. No problems with further fading or transfer or suppleness of the leather on either.
I’ve never used SJ! I’ve used acrylic paint + Creme Surfine + CPR to refresh a whole bag. (Which I’m currently doing with my periwinkle Emmie.) I’m curious about SJ; I might experiment with DH’s shoes before I use it on a purse.
Oospie and okay! Thanks for clarifying. I equated refresh with Saphir Juvacuir. These two got the Juvacuir refresh. Since I am all about texture I can honestly say it did not change the suppleness of the leather.

Thanks! The bag Ill be using it on is also black, so I’ll do my rehab as normal & then apply it afterwards. Can you give me a bit of a guideline as to how you applied it? Did you apply it & wait a while before buffing? Or did you just apply it & let it be?

Eta: nm, just saw in your BT tote post you applied with a makeup sponge & no mention of buffing. Thanks a lot @Lake Effect! :hugs:

Okay, all, it's experiment time! I've finally got myself some renapur, and I already have BR and Obenauf's LP. I'm going to wash all these bags at the same time and follow the exact same rehab process for each until the last step, at which point I'll try the 3 different products above, all applied in the same way: by hand with gentle heat applied after. We'll see!

Btw, the Tribeca flap is actually gray, not washed out black while the other bags are black. The comparison I'm looking for is shine and richness in the final product as well as ease of application/spreadability. Should be fun!

Oh brilliant: I was planning to do this in the summer - thanks for beating me to it! Making my future rehabs easier;)

To confirm, I applied and then let it be for a few days, to allow it to dry thoroughly. Good luck.

It appears that the black Winnie on Shopgoodwill ended at $176. Both @BeenBurned and @Hyacinth have stated that it is a fake. I don't know if the auction ended early or if someone bought it for that price? So much for that Entrupy COA!

Those of you that use LT, how many coats do you do, and how thick? I have put three coats on a bag and it has sucked it all right in. I dont know if I'm doing it too thin or what.

I usually only use one coat of Leather Therapy, I apply it generously and rub it in with my hands. Then I usually follow with an application of Leather CPR and finish with Black Rocks, but if a bag is very dry I will use an extra application or two.

Ok. I did very light coats. I definitely was not generous. Maybe I will give it one more coat and really lay it on. Thanks!

How do you know when to stop conditioning? I've lost count of how many coats of CPR I've done with my hippie, and I'm nervous about overdoing it. I remember reading that the conditioner won't absorb anymore, so does that mean the bag never dries properly?

I do CPR coats until the bag gets “tacky” or “damp/dry”. At that point the CPR doesn’t apply as well so I take that as my cue to stop & let the bag fully dry before moving onto my final finishing conditioner. Some bags will absorb CPR no matter how many coats you do so you’ll have to decide when you wanna stop using your own judgement. The bag will eventually fully dry. I’ve never had CPR prevent a bag from fully drying. Hope this helps :)

LOL I was mulling over for ages when doing my rehabs what you said about applying it only when wet and was going to ask - what do you do if you miss the mark and the bag dries too far but the bag still needs conditioner? Do you just be like 'oh well, it's already dry now' and go ahead and use finisher regardless? Or apply another conditioner that absorbs into dry leather better first?:lol::lol:

LOL, I just give up at that point & move onto my finisher because I don’t have the patience to re-dunk!
