It appears that the black Winnie on Shopgoodwill ended at $176. Both @BeenBurned and @Hyacinth have stated that it is a fake. I don't know if the auction ended early or if someone bought it for that price? So much for that Entrupy COA!

Good Morning Everyone,

I have been overwhelmed with paralysis in attempting any rehab on this special girl.

However, I have conditioned her with a goodly number of CPR coats and applied a top coat of Renapur (before I imported my Blackrocks). The brass I have given a cursory buff, in-situ, with a jewellers’ cloth.

She is too precious for me to keep in a dustbag in my wardrobe and I don’t have the competence nor the confidence to rehab her further. So with a heavy heart, and following the old adage “if you love someone (thing) let it go”, I’m going to be doing just that.

Beforehand though, I wanted to thank you all for your wisdom, support and encouragement, and have attached a few photos of her current progress.

Take care

Thank you for your kind words. I’ve enjoyed looking after her but am working hard on letting go vs hoarding

I’ll look forward to seeing your Rambler in due course!

Take care

I would be hoarding that one!

What does that word mean "hoarding"? :confused1: It's not in my vocabulary!

I started rehabbing a new-to-me Crescent bag a few days ago. She bled a ton in her bath and became super-stiff and heavy. I'm not sure what was used on her, maybe shoe polish? I've been alternating between Angelis deglazer or pure acetone, leather cleaner, and coats of CPR. I've finally reached leather, but cutting through all the goop has revealed areas with tiny holes. The holes aren't near the hardware, which had crazy verdigris, so I'm unsure if they could be caused by this bag's verdigris. The bag was clearly well-used after it was colored, so I imagine that if the holes were caused by insects that there isn't anything to worry about now? I don't want to miss treating something that needs attention. I'll be giving her another bath when I'm done with deglazer treatments. Any ideas or advice?

The first photo is before I got to work and the last is where she's at now...

I noticed some tiny cracks in the corners, so I sort of panicked and wanted to get some more moisture in it asap. I had already done two coats of leather therapy, so I decided to move on to the CPR. I did a coat last night, and this morning buffed and did another coat. It's definitely softening up a lot, and between the leather therapy and the CPR, there's a huge improvement in the evenness of the color. It still has a very distressed look, but like I said before, that's what I want, so appearance-wise, I'm very pleased.

Now, about these cracks, what do I do? My instinct is to let them be, other than to keep them moisturized, but I'm concerned that they would somehow worsen without intervention.

I don't know what I would do. I've only dealt with a tiny crack, and I filled it with leather cement. I have no idea about an area that big. I would definitely condition it a lot.

This why I like to limit what I pay for bags, period. The summer before last, I took this tote to work. As I was leaving, with it on my shoulder I bent down and when I got up, a sharp desk corner managed to catch the perforation and it tore! Giving it a spa treatment cleaning/conditioning and will use a little glue on it.

Put a little gold in the glue and make it look like the Japanese repairs- can't remember the name- make it a feature instead of hiding it

I went thrift shopping today. Found this for $11.00. Does it look authentic to you experts? I think it's real. Doing research on the internet says it's a Bridle Satchel made in Italy of Calfskin & Pigskin in 1998, and retailed new for something like $498.00. I think I SCORED with this purchase. What say you all? x o Connie PS: I haven't done anything to "rehab" it yet.

Oh wow, what a great idea. I glued it a few hours ago. Either later or tomorrow I will post a picture. However, that doesn't mean I still can't add a little something to the leather glue and dab over the joined area. Very clever.

Absolutely gorgeous! The depth of the red is just stunning. What do your heated Renapur treatments entail? Do you heat it after application? I use Renapur or Black Rocks and recently gave Bick LP a go on a bag that has bled slightly since her bath. I'd like to find a technique or product that leaves a slight sheen on the bag while maintaining the visible texture of the leather -- like Renapur before it fully absorbs and dries.

I have a 70s NYC basic bag, with the glue-on serial number, and brass plated zipper pull that I've been slow to complete a rehab on.

Has anyone tackled repairing or replacing the brass plated zipper pull? Mine is really, super chipped and I'm not sure what process or materials to use to restore it to a presentable condition. I imagine I'd have to remove it from the zipper to do a good job, but I haven't been able to figure out if that's even possible. If it can be removed, would replacing it with a solid brass ring would be the way to go?

Oh yikes, I thought it was solid brass?
