Haven't gotten this authenticated (in part because I'm trying to stay on ban island) but what do you think about this and the black spot? Lost cause?

I think the black spot is permanent.

That's what I'm thinking too. Oof, it's such a pretty red. Though that's WHY the price is that it is I'm sure.

Red bags can be so difficult, I don't think that I would attempt it.

Yeah, you're right. Oh well!

Right now I am working on rehabbing a vintage red bag that is in bad shape - so who am I to be telling you to be cautious?! But I got the bag for only $5 at a local thrift shop so I figure that it's worth the risk.

It's totally your decision. The seller might consider a lower offer and you might be able to hide that stain with paint if you can't get it out - but red can be a tricky color to match. Good luck!

to the veterans...how easy is cornflower blue to rehab...will it colour up after dunking or do we need to add colour with paint?

Not cornflower, but I have rehabbed several blue bags over the years in various shades and they all responded well and the color generally became deeper and more consistent.

Sometimes the blue color bleeds into the water as you know! But it didn't hurt the bag. Here are after pics of a sapphire Casey bag that I rehabbed years ago.

I'm trying to clean up a Wooster, in part because it has a very musty odor. I gave it a bath, but while the smell dissipated a little, it's still present. I don't have the option of hanging it outside at this time to try to get rid of it that way (apartment living, no balcony) Although I guess I could try leaving it in my car with the windows cracked... Do you think that might help? Or any other suggestions?

I hope you find one! This one I'm planning on selling myself, as I have since learned I'm not a fan of hoboish style shoulder bags (I know there are rules of doing so on tpf though?). It does have a darkened spot on the back that I don't know if I can get rid of, but it's otherwise in really good shape.
