It could be!Nice! I hope it's navy. Now that I see @valv54's pic I wonder if mine is blue and not navy? I think it is a 97 too.

It might have been recolored. Some products can change the surface texture of the leather, almost like a coat of paint.
Leather Refinisher can have that feel. I've had it peel off with a hot bath and a little scrubbing.
This is valuable experience for you, I hope you don't regret buying this bag. I have a black Willis covered in shoe polish and I have no idea how to fix it. I guess we're in the same position, we have nothing to lose but a lot to learn so we might as well give it a go and see what happens.
I use a 10.8v lithium ion cordless model. I'll bet you can get one on black friday deals at Lowe's or Home Depot. I will be looking for a new set of tool heads for mine.Live help needed!
If you use a Dremel for polishing hardware, what model do you use?
Thank you! My store is out of stock so I have to go to another one.I use a 10.8v lithium ion cordless model.
I love it when we also see each other in instagram.Just finished this one up this week. I’ve had this purse for 9 years (bought it for $4.99 at a thrift store) and finally washed and conditioned it. 2 befores and 1 after.
- Dunked it and gently scrubbed it
- Polished brass
- Conditioned with 7-8 coats of CPR (seems excessive, but the leather appeared thirsty)
- Conditioned with 1 coat of Blackrock
- Brushed with a horse hair brush
Instagram is my preferred methodI love it when we also see each other in instagram.
Im thinking of changing my instagram name to something more in keeping with what obssession Im currently in...at the moment its handbags and rehabbing them...before that it was thrifting....then crystals and my huge scarf collection.Instagram is my preferred method
My tried and true products are mild dish soap for the bath, Leather CPR for once daily conditioning until the bag is quenched, and Black Rocks for a finishing touch. I also use Brasso to polish the brass hardware after using 000 grade steel wool to remove the lacquer on the brass. I'm kinda new to rehabbing but I've been pleased with how all of my bags have turned out so I think I'm doing ok. My oldest bag is a pre-creed metal tag Courier Pouch and that came out just gorgeous after a bath and lots of conditioning. I do recommend that you skim through the 1500+ pages on this thread if you want to be amazed at the talents of some of the veteran rehabbers here. Plus you'll learn so much!
I started to use the Dremel Lite, cordless, and although I am new to this tool, I find it more efficient than hand polishing. I'm just cautious to use steel the wool attachment on it, afraid to scratch the brass.Thank you! My store is out of stock so I have to go to another one.
