I'm rehabbing a friend's Pocket Purse in black. She's been on the hunt for a green one too, and accidentally bought a Bottle Green City bag, not realizing its bigger  So I'm getting a Bottle Green City Bag, and she's still looking for an elusive Pocket Purse. Here's the dunking, rinse and stuffed/resting. Conditioning in a couple of hours. 20191110_190733.jpg 20191110_190751.jpg 20191110_191220.jpg

The piping on my NYC stewardess continues to crack, mostly on one side, but the other isn’t looking too healthy upon closer inspection.
That's really too bad. It does seem that once leather is allowed to dry out past a certain point, no amount of conditioning is going to prevent further deterioration. The only remedy would be to replace the piping, a job for a professional conservator I would think.

Bummer. I have read here that sometimes people here have NYC bags crack with dunking.

It was fine until I carried it a couple weeks. Didn’t seem dry before or after dunk. Adding more cpr seemed to make it mushy rather than hydrated:(. I wasn’t 100% happy with the work done on my crescent so I guess I will just use this until I tire and see where I stand. Really worried about my tabac courier now. It is the only other nyc bag I dunked.

 I'm sorry! I dunked two NYC Classic Pouches. One is fine months later despite being really dry at first, the other one cracked like crazy. It was really stiff before I dunked it.

I've been thinking about this Manor but I'm puzzled about the "scuffs". Could someone please advise? Does it look like cracked polish? Thanks in advance!

Your talking about those spots in the last two pictures mainly the last one? Whatever that is it looks like the top layer of the leather is gone.I don't know if there some kind of a chemical burn or mold that ate it away but I would think twice about it.

I just picked up a 90s purse with the black logo fabric liner. I never buy the ones with a liner but the bag was only $5. The usual bath with these? I've never paid attention all these years because I stay away lol

The leather on some of these is thinner. I think I may have washed one. It didn't come out great. I would avoid washing if I didn't have to. What style is it?

It's a 6000 but I can't find the name of it anywhere. The leather actually feels pretty good, thicker than some of my others from that "era". I might try a dunk with it as an experiment and see what happens.

I can't help you with a name. There was a line of bags only made for a very short time in the 6000 range. I haven't been able to find out much about them. I've never seen them in a catalog.
