There is a very small ink stain which I can live with, but she does need a major bath and conditioning. What products do you recommend?
so black rocks is better then leather cpr or apple? I want to order the correct cleaner/conditioner . I have mink oil can that be used or no?I'm getting ready to do one of these now. No ink stains luckily, the only real way to cover those on burnished leather is paint unfortunately. If you plan to keep it that's ok, but if you're going to sell it...you might be better off leaving them or fully disclosing what you did.
I will spray mine with cleaner and throw it in the washing machine...yep. Then stuff, dry, black rocks.
For a gentler approach...sink wash/soak and scrub the dinge lightly. They loose color easily when wet if you scrub....hence the washing machine.

Wow, what a comeback for that bag, she looks great!
I think of blackrocks as a finisher. For very dry bags I start with an oil like Leather Therapy then finish with blackrocks. For bags that were just a little dry I will use Leather CPR, then finish with blackrocks. I have not personally used mink oil and have heard mixed opinions about it, so I have stayed away.so black rocks is better then leather cpr or apple? I want to order the correct cleaner/conditioner . I have used mink oil with good results. It softens the leather. I still finish with blackrocks.so black rocks is better then leather cpr or apple? I want to order the correct cleaner/conditioner . I have mink oil can that be used or no?
Beautiful job! So the dye remover removes the original dye as well? I have a few bags that I went a little too wild with the paint and I need something to remove that, but I don't want to remove the original dye.Let me add that I don't condone dying in ANY way...but this bag was a disaster. I intend to keep it, but full disclosure is a must if this much work is done to a bag!!!!!!!![]()
I finished my smiley bag, Ms. Plaza Court (large)!
Oh, wow, yours looks like new! Absolutely beautifulThanks so much for the tips & pics!
I would glue it all back together as much as possible, do light coats of leather filler and then top with acrylic paint or Leather Refinisher in the matching color. To get the right texture, I blot/dab the leather filler coats with my finger.
Thank you! She's going to the movies today.Well hello Ms Plaza Court! Aren't you a pretty thing?

Here's a weird question for you: Someone asked today about a courier pouch that looked like it had a stiffener inserted into the tab. Is there something stuffed in there on yours?
