Finished with the Saddlery....it took FOREVER to get the bag to dried and conditioned correctly...so worth it though!

Both are gorgeous, but the carrier bag is heavenly!

Really, do you know the style numbers of the two sizes? What are the measurements of yours? Mine is about 10 1/4 inches wide, 9 1/4 inches tall and 3 3/4 inches deep. Is that the large?
I haven't put the smaller one up for authentication yet, so I don't know the style number. She looks pretty legit, but of course....you never know ;) The smaller one is about 9.5" Wide x 8.5" T x 3.5" D (it is quite flat right now). The one that Hyacinth authenticated as a large Plaza bag 9865 was 11" W x 9" T x 4" D (these were very flat measurements as well). Both say Coach Leatherware, Made in the United States and are pre-1994 serial numbers.

I would say mine is the large one. When you get a chance, could you take a picture of them together?

I love both of your bags! Quick question - what exactly is Montana Oil? I'm trying to beef up my rehab arsenal and figure out what works best on rehabs. What is it and where do I get it? How does it compare to other conditioners? I'm still experimenting and trying to figure out what works best.

Hi ladies! I'm sure this question has been asked & answered but I can't seem to find it: What is the best way to clean suede? I have a vintage Berkley that I found online & she's in very good condition. However, I'd like to try to see if I can make her look even better by treating the suede parts. & what about brass? I'd like to shine the buckles up a bit. TIA!ImageUploadedByPurseForum1371702082.724446.jpg

You can shine the brass with any brass cleaner, like Brasso or Wenols, or even vinegar. As far as the suede is concerned, it depends on how dirty it is. The suede cleaners I've bought don't seem to work. I washed my Berkeley bags. You can use a suede brush or fine steel wool on the suede. When you condition the leather, put it on all the smooth parts, including the backsides of the suede parts.

When you're ready for more photos for your style number page, PM me! I can send links to lots of bags I've had authenticated over the last year. And it was great fun to see the ones you've already posted. Great job...terrific resource...THANKS!

If you have photos and numbers to include, please e-mail them to me:

That goes for anyone that would like to contribute!!
And, I just did a Burberry for the first time ever... a lot different from how I would have treated a Coach!!

Thank u, Whateve! I'm going to try the vinegar on the brass tomorrow morn. The suede is close to mint, so I think I'll leave that alone for now.

I rehabbed the exact same bag. Turned out beautiful! I used a Woly Gum suede block on the reverse suede before and after her bath and she's velvety now :). Brasso with a q-tip on the brass - mine was very tarnished.

I have a completely filthy suede daphne that I was going to toss... Until I poked around a bit on YouTube and here . A girl on YouTube said "tuff stuff" cleaner for suede.. Lots of good reviews. And then I looked here .., a bath for suede??!! Did I read that right??!! I suppose there's nothing to lose if I was going to Toss it .. But what was technique?? I didn't think suede would stand up to that ?!!?? Anyone ever try tuff stuff???

I have never tried tuff stuff but I have washed suede bags with various degrees of success depending on the color and condition of the bag. What color is your Daphne? And what color of hardware does it have?

You can wash bags in the sink with Ivory or Dawn dish soap or Woolite and warm water and use a soft toothbrush to scrub the dirtiest areas. You can also tie them up in a pillowcase and cycle through the washer on delicate cycle.

After you wash a bag, stuff it with clean towels or rags to shape it while it dries. Set it on a towel and turn it occasionally. After a day or so take the towels out and let it continue drying.

Put leather conditioner on the smooth leather parts and when it is dry brush the suede to revive it. If the bag originally had shiny brass hardware that has tarnished, then use a metal polish like brasso or wenol to clean it.

There is a chance that the suede color will fade a bit through washing, but if you were planning to toss the bag anyway - it's worth a dry.

I have applied oil (leather therapy oil or refined emu oil) to dry faded suede and the bags drank it in and it helped to revive the texture and color. They dried completely and didn't feel oily or greasy. Good luck!

Wow , ok I'm going to try tuff stuff first.. If easily found! thenI'm going to try a bath! The bag is tan or light brown with chocolate leather trim and brass hardware.. .. I'm excited to get started!! Anything different I should do considering the color. I'm wondering about the pillowcase trick and just giving that a shot first at least as step 1 since it is so darned stained... I think....
