Stunning!! I love that bag!
Whateve - thanks! I am really pleased that it came out so well! There was some fading but it is stillv ery pretty and I really had nothing to lose - couldn't wear it out looking the way it did.Wow, that looks great. I have a suede wristlet and a vintage suede bag that I have already rehabbed and you've got me thinking that maybe I should put them through the washer a few times to get them looking even better. I'm scared though.
Thanks Jessi and for all of the encouragement - I probably wouldn't have tried the washer machine if not for you, debi and Ledobe. I am going to post a pic of another suede bag for advice - this one is much cleaner thank goodness!!I am so impressed!!! I am glad you won her and won this rehab challenge!!! so very nice!!
Thanks Joodlz - although you're not getting much advice from this newbietetondeb: THANKS!
socmoe: WOW, WOW and MORE WOW! I'll be tackling my very first suede rehab later today. Between your and ledobe's (and everyone else's) advice here, I know I can do it! Watch for my posts...gotta ******************!
I will order some Leather Therapy REstorer and Conditioner today - my bone/white City bag I bought at Savers needs it desperately - so I apply every day until I see a difference? It is great for extremely dry bags. You may have already seen this rehab but this bag was just shy of dry rotting in places when I found it: And it took A LOT of coats to get the dry leather to start matching the healthier leather that was under the flaps and inside bag, etc.

Is it okay to condition an entire bag with the blackrocks conditioner? I have the black cherry and black legacy duffles that I'm considering so I'm not too concerned with it darkening.
Yes. Just put it on thinly. Do one section at a time and then wipe with a paper towel. I think that even if it darkens, that is only temporary.
Hey guys! I'm new here, and I have just purchased a pre-loved Coach Court Bag 9870 from eBay... I'm finding ways to sanitize it the best way there is possible and remove the smoke smell inside. Please help! Any suggestions ladies? It would be much appreciated!
I noticed that as well - annoying..Off Topic - but has anyone noticed being solicited @ the top of the page today for Prada Bags? They are beautiful, so I couldn't resist clicking through. Everything over $1K and I'd bet my bottom dollar that our vintage Coach bags have got it all over them in quality. I purchased a white Prada in 2005 (which I'll sell this Spring); but can you believe the edge coating has cracked in half a dozen places [would love to know how to repair if anyone has any suggestions]. I used it occasionally for 2 summers and I take very good care of my bags.
Anyway, thought it a bit of an invasion by Prada into Coach territory today![]()
Okay, another unveiling!! I bought this one (according to my notes: Companion Flip Crossbody - tell me if that's wrong) along with the other one I posted the other day which was my 1st rehab. This was a dull gray and flat and droopy. I did the dunk in the sink with Dawn - not really dirty or stained, lucky for me, let dry - started Leather CPR after 24 hours - did that twice and finshed up with a light coat of Black Rocks - it is now a beautiful taupe?/olive green (not from BlackRocks -didn't notice any darkening with that)....what a diifference some TLC makes! Here is a link to what it looked like when I bought it (the drab gray one):http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-of-2-vintage-COACH-leather-purses-bags-/321063728348?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&nma=true&si=Tpic5I3UQkhGfoZPezZcpTisxH8%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
and now!
