Wow, that looks great. I have a suede wristlet and a vintage suede bag that I have already rehabbed and you've got me thinking that maybe I should put them through the washer a few times to get them looking even better. I'm scared though.
Whateve - thanks! I am really pleased that it came out so well! There was some fading but it is stillv ery pretty and I really had nothing to lose - couldn't wear it out looking the way it did.

I am so impressed!!! I am glad you won her and won this rehab challenge!!! so very nice!!
Thanks Jessi and for all of the encouragement - I probably wouldn't have tried the washer machine if not for you, debi and Ledobe. I am going to post a pic of another suede bag for advice - this one is much cleaner thank goodness!!

tetondeb: THANKS!
socmoe: WOW, WOW and MORE WOW! I'll be tackling my very first suede rehab later today. Between your and ledobe's (and everyone else's) advice here, I know I can do it! Watch for my posts...gotta ******************!
Thanks Joodlz - although you're not getting much advice from this newbie ;) so glad I had success because I really love this bag!

Here is my other suede bag which I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived because it looks better than the pictures. I thought there was some peeling/fading in the patent leather straps in the seller's pics but non at all! Looks great. So, here's the thing - it is a bit droopy and has some dirt and wear/scuff marks on bottom that need to come out....any advice how best to accomplish this? Would it be better not to dunk (in the sink) and just spot clean. If so, do I clean the patent leather with Apple or Leather Cpr and just wipe the suede with a little Dawn and warm water? Here are the seller's pics:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-handb...3UQkhGfoZPezZcpTisxH8%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

and ones I just took - gotta love cameras - the seller's pics make it look WORSE than it is and my camera makes it look BETTER - it is slightly more dingy and dirty on the bottom than my pics show, I think:

Okay, here goes...we've been having lots of fun this morning. Just bought this nightmare yesterday and both BeenBurned and Hyacinth agree it's genuine...and it's a genuine mess...what was I thinking? Likely to be my first washing machine experiment.
Check out the "befores": http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-763164-428.html#post24018904

She's had a pretty serious kitchen sink scrub and is stuffed and drying. I'm using a toothbrush and wash cloth as she dries, but it's just too soon to tell whether she needs a trip to the laundry room. I'll keep you all posted...wish me luck...I think I'm gonna need it!

It is great for extremely dry bags. You may have already seen this rehab but this bag was just shy of dry rotting in places when I found it: And it took A LOT of coats to get the dry leather to start matching the healthier leather that was under the flaps and inside bag, etc.

I will order some Leather Therapy REstorer and Conditioner today - my bone/white City bag I bought at Savers needs it desperately - so I apply every day until I see a difference?

Is it okay to condition an entire bag with the blackrocks conditioner? I have the black cherry and black legacy duffles that I'm considering so I'm not too concerned with it darkening.

Yes. Just put it on thinly. Do one section at a time and then wipe with a paper towel. I think that even if it darkens, that is only temporary.

Hey guys! I'm new here, and I have just purchased a pre-loved Coach Court Bag 9870 from eBay... I'm finding ways to sanitize it the best way there is possible and remove the smoke smell inside. Please help! Any suggestions ladies? It would be much appreciated!

There are numerous suggestions on how to remove the smoke. A court bag always benefits from a sink bath with Dawn, but that usually doesn't get rid of the smoke. What I usually do is a combination of the bath, wiping the bag down with alcohol, hanging the bag outside for a week or so, and sealing the dry bag in a plastic bag for about a week with something that is supposed to help with smoke, which can be bath salts, baking soda, carpet fresh, etc. Sealing the bag up with activated charcoal is supposed to work. Sometimes it takes longer. You can do each step more than once. I have been successful with every bag I've tried - it just takes a long time, sometimes months.

Off Topic - but has anyone noticed being solicited @ the top of the page today for Prada Bags? They are beautiful, so I couldn't resist clicking through. Everything over $1K and I'd bet my bottom dollar that our vintage Coach bags have got it all over them in quality. I purchased a white Prada in 2005 (which I'll sell this Spring); but can you believe the edge coating has cracked in half a dozen places [would love to know how to repair if anyone has any suggestions]. I used it occasionally for 2 summers and I take very good care of my bags.

Anyway, thought it a bit of an invasion by Prada into Coach territory today :)

I noticed that as well - annoying..

Okay, another unveiling!! I bought this one (according to my notes: Companion Flip Crossbody - tell me if that's wrong) along with the other one I posted the other day which was my 1st rehab. This was a dull gray and flat and droopy. I did the dunk in the sink with Dawn - not really dirty or stained, lucky for me, let dry - started Leather CPR after 24 hours - did that twice and finshed up with a light coat of Black Rocks - it is now a beautiful taupe?/olive green (not from BlackRocks -didn't notice any darkening with that)....what a diifference some TLC makes! Here is a link to what it looked like when I bought it (the drab gray one):http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-of-2-vi...3UQkhGfoZPezZcpTisxH8%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

and now!
