Good luck and let us know how the filler works!

So I have been eyeballing a canteen bag for like, years, and then they came out with the new ones and they're so cute. However, being a cheapskate and knowing the resiliance of the old leather, I kept holding out for the right old one. Every time I find one on eBay I talk myself out of it, and I think it's because NOW I want the cute new colors. I have had a small bag in pretty much every color the classic style comes in.

Sunday night, I was scoping out the 'bay (why? I'm on a ban! I need to find another little hobby while I watch TV), and ran across a badly listed "white coach purse" with a BIN of $20 and free shipping.

I'm kind of thinking I might experiment with changing the color using the leather refinisher. I haven't received it yet, but I'm sort of expecting it to be the typical white bag that needs some sort of touch up. I might be dissappointed if it's in perfect shape as I won't have an excuse to mess with it. :graucho:

I have no idea! I've been waiting for you to figure it out! I think that it might be better to put the refinish on after. Mixing it in might change the the filler's ability to adhere.

:D That sounds like good logic. I will probably try that first. We will be working on the bag this next week and hopefully will have a success story to share!

Well the Chester (not Canteen after all) arrived today and of course she's near perfect LOL!

I would have a hard time justifying a color change on this bag, but I really wanted to play with this one!

Yup, you're right. I just took another good look and while I'm sure the bag has been carried, I can't even find a mark on it. I think I'd lose all my vintage Coach karma if I messed with this one.

Just gave her a quick reshaping dunk but I probably could have skipped that too.

I'll just have to tart her up with some tassels.

Need some advice ladies...I have experience rehabbing leather but not suede. I just picked up a black Coach Berkeley drawstring for $18 and from pics it looks like there's a whitish stain on the front bottom. Should I dunk or use suede cleaner and brush out? TIA for any opinions!

You can dunk a suede bag. It is just like dunking regular unlined bags except the inside is on the outside.
