That was maybe the $7K newer versions in alligator? I love the teal blue one but not something I would use.

That is the shiny alligator rogue. It retailed for $7k and was not leather on the sides like the one on FOS. It was 100% alligator I believe. My expensive HG rogue is the red python rogue. I have not seen that pop up in years.

I went with that one too, after taking the croc in and out of my bag twice (I’m not quite sure how I managed to do that, but to the 2 or 3 of you who did get it, YOU’RE WELCOME! ). I’m still debating on the Felix and one of the 36’s, but I think I’ll wait and see if they don’t add a coupon code onto those eventually. I have a feeling the higher priced stuff is moving a little slower than they’d like.

Also, I’m probably remembering wrong, but didn’t they put out a croc Rogue that was more of a teal color? That was the one I’ve spent the last 24 hours mentally drooling over (and which resulted in multiple “dear! why are you on the coach site again?!!” inquiries from a certain someone), so I have to admit the green made me go “oh.” when I first saw it this morning.
I might get a "back up" rogue 36 if they have a coupon. I would rather buy from Coach than ebay, since "barely used" and "like new" have VERY different meanings to many ebay sellers, than how I define them lol :D

They're in the Coach Reserve but you can easily filter by searching Eyelet. The small black one sold out as soon as I checked out. I ended up ordering all three. I already got the large sequins pink and small black sequins at the outlet for 70%. Not sure I'll keep these but I'm curious to see them in person.
Ah, now I see them. They don't say Rodarte. My search for Rodarte came up empty. I really wanted the sequins version. I ended up getting the clutch with leather sequins.

I wasn't around for the introduction of the Rogues in 2016 either. I was buying proenza back then and in a "separation" from Coach because of their insane pricing and branding strategies. (I had gotten burned by paying full price for some stuff only to see it go to outlet in a month).

It's easy to get caught up in the hype on this board . I have to double check myself all the time so that I don't stampede to the latest FOS sale and buy something I don't want, need, (or sometimes even like that much  )

I still buy my HG early edition rogues on ebay when I find one in good condition. Often I will post a link in the "finds" thread to one that I already have if I think it's a good deal.

The newer styles are clearly a large step down from the 1941 leather and style. I am a big bag girl because I carry a bunch of stuff back and forth for work, so the cute tabbies and other small bags are never going to be my daily bag.

I think buying the early Rogues on FOS makes sense as you know it's coming from Coach and hasn't been used (much). I do think that now that we are down to the last of the Rogues, there is a risk they will be returns or from stores. But I would still buy anyway if they had something on my "list".
I think I have been very picky about the rogues I have purchased and today I am glad I didn't buy the haircalf ones. I liked them but didn't love them enough for the price. I only have 4 regular sized ones and two of them are the MTO crocs at a ridiculous deal considering the retail price. Love them both. If I keep this croc one then I don't need any more and I will be happy with what I have. I just hope it doesn't show up like two out of three snakeskin tea rose ones from SAS. Can you imagine getting a raggedy $1800 bag?

I love the red python one but am so disappointed in the lifting scales on the snakeskin ones I have received recently.

Have you used the Saphir Reptan Cream on them? I'm assuming you mean snakeskin handles? It really works wonders and is so easy to apply. It is kind of like elmers glue and you rub it on the handles, wait a little bit and then buff. The scales lie back down and are "shiny" and smooth again. I bought mine from Amazon I think.

I keep my handles tucked inside the bag most of the time since I use the shoulder straps. I think the handles would flake pretty easily I agree.
The handles on the tea rose rogue seem to be fine but it was the first light blue troupe tote and the cadet troupe tote with the brown snakeskin sides that had lifting scales.

I’ve always been leery to spend more than $100 bucks on EBay, even though it’s obvious most of the listings were purchased directly from the FOS. It’s just my personal hang-up, even though EBay seems to have good protocols in place for returns/counterfeits/etc (I’ve never had to avail myself of them though, so I could be wrong.).

I’m willing to pay a little more through FOS for the exact reasons you stated. I’ve been lucky enough to only receive 1 mangled bag, and that was actually from Coach.com. I was hoping they’d have the Rogue in the haircalf ocelot print (the brown “natural” colored one) this time around. I think that’s the last of my HGs, that I’m willing to pay more for, other than anything in a teal exotic.

I thought hard about the croc this morning, but ultimately decided that if I was going to spend that much I should truly love it. Otherwise I might as well go big and go premium designer. I doubt Hermes will ever deign to offer me the bag I want (and I outright refuse to play their game of spending money on things I don’t really want in order to “cultivate a relationship” with a store clerk), but it doesn’t keep me from squirreling away money just in case...

The rogue handles are fine it was the other bags I returned. I use a conditioner for exotics on my bags with skins. I might check into this creme. Thanks!
