I got the grey after being tempted by the black, midnight, saddle and oxblood. The mustard was sold out so I never saw it. It's a soft middleweight, lightly pebbled, unlined leather (with an almost matte finish). This makes it have a more manageable empty weight.

How do you feel about the opening? That's the main thing that kept me from buying. I bought a large Derby in one of the previous sales and it just feels too open and accessible, not very secure.

I think I might go for the messenger instead

I'm a fan of big open bags for quick access. It does have a generous zippered interior pocket for securing and concealing quite a bit of stuff. It also has a nice dog leash closure (in lovely gunmetal no less).

I've found that if the bag is not full and you're carrying it on your shoulder, the top will be fairly secure. Your arm is pressing the top shut. Hand carrying it is another story, but in that case, someone would have to bend over to get into it.......bend way over in my case 'cause I'm short. :lol:

I peeked anyway. I hope all the satchels sell out so I can stop thinking I could have saved $80 USD on each of mine everytime I see them pop up!

Only real temptation for me was the black Whiplash Saddle and the Olive Saddle 23. I already have these bags in Mineral and Butterscotch though and as much as I love them they are not used enough to justify duplicates...even if olive/green is tempting as I love anything green! The Butterscotch is already a great neutral colour.

I was very, very bad this weekend so can't go buying duplicates just because it is a "good deal"!

I keep getting the technical difficulties message and now I've lost one of the items in my cart. So frustrating, idk why I keep doing this to myself knowing already how these sales operate

Eta: I was finally able to push my order through minus one item
