It's not a dumb question @kells1983. I am wondering the exact same thing. I have had a generous Coach gift card in my wallet since March and I just splurged it and ordered the Rogue 36 satchel in oxblood.

I don't have any rogues so this will be my first and I don't have any oxblood bags. I love the color but have already returned 2 oxblood bags - a grammercy because it was too small and a nomad because I already had 2 nomads.

I like big bags but I am a short woman so I am worried that it will be too big and boxy for me. I'm also more of a shoulder bag lover but I wanted something different. I'm excited about my first rogue purchase but worried that I may be returning my 3rd oxblood bag soon!

Of course the bag looks wonderful on the tall, skinny, young model in the pic at the link below - but we will have to see how the Rogue works for a short, not skinny, old lady!

I keep thinking about the disappointment of Ginger years ago (see link below) but at $400 if the bag isn't perfect for me, then the beautiful oxblood rogue will have to go back, I have my fingers crossed!

Haha, thanks - that's nice that you used your GC on the Rogue! It will be bad to be 0 for 3 on oxblood since it's such a great color, but it's probably a style issue more than a color issue, I bet!

I don't see the modeling pic (link looks like your Ginger link duplicated) but I Googled it and it looks really big on her, so I'm hoping since I'm average/not skinny and I wouldn't say "short" but a little over 5'6" (and 5'9"ish when I wear heels) it will look ok on me :)

Oh yeah, the models.......I'm so far from those dimensions! lolol I'm 5'6", size 14/16 and I must have a large bag to balance me out. The pictures of the Rogue Satchel 36 with the models look deceiving to me. It's not as wide as in pictures. It looks like a normal satchel shapeRogue.jpg . I've attached a pic of my black one. Can't wait to get oxblood.

Sorry didn't mean to discourage anyone from buying a rogue satchel, certainly not before they have had a chance to try it out. I do love mine, although I don't like the weight of it, it's definitely a high quality bag with great details. I was at the store yesterday and picked up all the satchels in front of a mirror (the longer ones and the shorter one that I own). I am around 5'8'' and kind of have similar proportions to the ladies in the pictures (not quite 5'10'' which I assume they are) but I still feel like the bigger satchels border on looking a bit like duffel bags and some of the smaller ones can look like the old school doctor bags (which I kind like). Perhaps they're actually best when held in hand, without the strap, which makes them a bit less versatile than the regular rogues. I was shopping with a friend who is shorter than me and more curvy and she said she felt weird carrying the satchel, especially with the strap, because it she felt it made her proportions look strange. I think she looks great notwithstanding - but the regular rogue seems to be a better look. They're definitely a unique shape and I would say, if you can afford it, you could use one in your wardrobe. But if it's your first rogue then just know it's more satchel than rogue and if you're looking for a 'classic'/'signature' Coach bag then this might be too niche.

That's just my personal, honest, opinion. I hope this helps some people decide because these types of bags are an investment after all.

I don't think you were discouraging but just sharing your experience. We all like what we like. I agree that those Rogues are heavy. I just keep reminding myself that I'll have some KILLER biceps!

I wasn't discouraged - I know you weren't actually responding to me, but just giving honest advice to katev! Luckily I'm not shy about returning outlet purchases so if it doesn't work out, I'll just take it back.... I view it as trying it instead of wondering later :) But when mine arrives I will definitely look at it with a more critical eye because of the price (while on sale, it is still a lot for a bag I don't love).

For anyone considering the Large City Zip tote (F11926), I just wanted to add a few pics since the site only has one pic.

The tote has an exterior slip pocket (love this!) and also some great pockets inside. On the back wall is a zip pockets that goes the full length of the tote and is probably for a laptop. A sign next to the tote said it fit a 15" laptop. On the front wall is another smaller zip pocket that has some depth to it because of gussets.

So I tried to sign up one more time with my primary email earlier, and I actually got an Outlet email this time! Email had some prices and said four more days for the sale but when I hit Buy Now, it still won't recognize my sign in. Grrr.

You may need to wait for next sale to see if you get invite. Sounds like you got welcome email but not necessarily the invite mail. I think invites go out day before sale opens. I could not get into a sale first time I signed up either though I got a welcome email - I did receive an invite for the next one.

Hopefully this will be the case! It wasn't a welcome email per se, more like a browsing follow up email.

I'm a fan of the Rogue Satchel. I'm 5'2", though, so the 36 would probably be too much for me. Kind of feel like the classic Speedy/Doctor bag shape doesn't look bad on anyone! Admittedly, it does look the most elegant when hand-carried, but I use it as a crossbody 99% of the time (as I have a toddler) and still love that look.

Regarding this sale, I tried to add the Olive Saddle 23 to cart yesterday, and it just would not add, so I gave up. I work in software/web development, and find this kind of inexcusable.

Most often when you can't add to your cart, it is because it is out of stock. When items say "almost gone" I can never add them to my cart.
