well with all the outlets and stuff why would one buy a counterfeit that falls apart in days when you can get a genuine one from a coach outlet at a reasonable price? They are fighting the counterfeits via lower pricing and pricing the counterfeits out. People buy counterfeits because they want to carry the brand but cannot afford to do so, so the coach outlet stores basically fills that niche and stamps a lot of the counterfeits out and the reason for buying them in the 1st place. Actually read the situation a bit before actually complaining next time?
+1 Try buying with the fb promo then and frequent this forum. folks on this board will let you know when there's a fb promo. That's what I did and coach has been sending me pces ever since, even though I don't buy that much. The SAs noticed my worn no name bag and know I'm in the market for a new bag, but I'm waiting for the style that catches my eye.

that is what i thought, i get PCE every single time and i never even bought FP bag and am 48, something is just not right. they might just do it randomly but SA came up with her own rude explanation

I actually think the poster had a valid point in that access to outlet stuff at affordable prices puts a damper on the counterfeit industry. She should not have attacked you in order to make her point. I think how much counterfeit Coach you see depends on where you live and whether there is access to an outlet. Once we got an outlet, I stopped seeing counterfeit Coach. Now everyone seems to be carrying both FP and MFF stuff, all authentic. The counterfeits I see are all LV.
We have a 3 outlets within 1hr drive. The outlet is even available online, so much easier access...I still see women knocking about in god awful ugly counterfeit coach canvas bags!! :vomit:
I'm exiting the coach forum before I step on toes like the rude poster I responded to. I know when to refrain.
On a final note - I still get PCE coupons regularly even though I haven't bought a coach item in over 3 years and I'm in my 40s. If I remember I'll share...

Employee of the year this woman is not. Not only did she completely misrepresent the company policy, but she did so in a way that makes her employer look bad and in a way that was personally offensive to the customer she was serving. I'd let her manager know, to be honest. You'd be doing Coach such a favor they should give you a free bag. Who knows how many other paying customers this brain trust is alienating.
About the other stuff... the thing is once you get to be as big a company as Coach, where you've expanded into every other mall and outlet market in America, and are publicly traded, you can't go back to being that boutique offering classic, timeless unlined bags that last forever. You have to sell, sell some more, and then sell more. And you got to get the young people because studies have shown that consumers who start buying a product young develop an incredible sense of brand loyalty. It's probably not coincidence that I favor Coach when my mom was a Coach devotee and that's the brand I was exposed to at an early age.
It totally sucks for the unhip amongst us (myself included), but it makes sense to risk your established customer base to hook the next generation. Make no mistake, their competition like Kate Spade and MK would do the same thing. The whole industry is obsessed with youth and beauty. I actually think Coach is more inclusive than most.
