Coach doesn’t want to encourage your business

This is the sad truth...
Designers are becoming more and more choosy when, in my very humble opinion, some of them have no reason to. Coach, you are not Hermés. Please realize that. You make cute purses/accessories, but you aren't a premier designer.
I'm sorry you had to go through this experience :(

xx, Dylan

Ugh, I am sorry you had to experience that.

Coach, you are also not Prada... and all the young, hip girls in the world won't make you so...

Employee of the year this woman is not. Not only did she completely misrepresent the company policy, but she did so in a way that makes her employer look bad and in a way that was personally offensive to the customer she was serving. I'd let her manager know, to be honest. You'd be doing Coach such a favor they should give you a free bag. Who knows how many other paying customers this brain trust is alienating.

About the other stuff... the thing is once you get to be as big a company as Coach, where you've expanded into every other mall and outlet market in America, and are publicly traded, you can't go back to being that boutique offering classic, timeless unlined bags that last forever. You have to sell, sell some more, and then sell more. And you got to get the young people because studies have shown that consumers who start buying a product young develop an incredible sense of brand loyalty. It's probably not coincidence that I favor Coach when my mom was a Coach devotee and that's the brand I was exposed to at an early age.

It totally sucks for the unhip amongst us (myself included), but it makes sense to risk your established customer base to hook the next generation. Make no mistake, their competition like Kate Spade and MK would do the same thing. The whole industry is obsessed with youth and beauty. I actually think Coach is more inclusive than most.

Well said!

People see what they want to see.

I definitely notice more fake LVs, as in stunningly obvious fakes where the sig is the wrong letters. I wonder how many "fake" Coach bags are actually inexpensive factory bags carried around and beat up for 5 years.

WHERE DID I SAY I DONT SEE FAKE LVs....find something else to jump on the bandwagon about.

It is indeed very possible that not every thing is about you, and that comments can be applied to general situations.

Normally, in this sort of situation, I would apologize for unintentionally offending you with my comment. But your posting history in this thread is just not inspiring it out of me for some reason.

You quoted her response to me. Have a good day!

Damn straight!

Best response. I wouldn't let one dopey SA ruin my taste for a brand. I might let a company's business model ruin it for me though (Like you said, hello A&F. They only loved me when I was skinny). Coach knows they have a wide customer base and welcomes it. I think the fault lies with the SA and not with Coach as a brand. And, don't forget there are plenty of other brands out there if you are that unhappy with them.

I feel your pain, OP. I never seem to get much help from Coach, whether it be via phone, chat, store, etc. I've spent 1000+ on Coach in not even a year, it should not matter what age you are.. money is money! Take it or leave it Coach!

This comment does not surprise me. I have been buying Coach since the 80's, I am now 40. I do feel like Coach is trying to lose me as a customer because I am not stylish enough for them. The prices of the bags keep going up, soon there will be little under $500.

Coach is taking a big risk by alienating loyal customers like me, the company's sales are down, so I don't think the strategy is working.

Those individuals who buy Prada will not buy Coach no matter how high Coach prices its bags. I simply don't think a Prada buyer views Coach as a high end brand.

And lastly, I have never received a PCE, so now I get it.

*PS: It annoys the crap out of me that I spend $400-600 on a bag, then I go in the store and the inventory has completely changed (it appears to change every couple of weeks). I always worry when I purchase a bag that I am going to find one I like better in a matter of weeks.
